∞ TWENTY ONE

It wasn't the alarm clock that woke me up today. It was the loud continuous knocks on the door of my apartment. I had tried multiple ways to ignore the very rude intruder—I hid under my comforter, I threw my pillow on the door and I even tried chanting weird black magic, hoping that whoever was there would just go away.

Don't look at me like that. I blame Natsu Dragneel for teaching me very weird antics. And of course they never work.

I inhaled a sharp breath. I clumsily climbed down my bed with my hair in mess and eyes turned into sharp slits. I didn't bother fixing myself. I wasn't thinking. I just want to go back to bed as soon as possible. Merlin, it's Saturday and it's just 9:00 in the morning! Usually, I'd still be asleep until it's twelve in the afternoon.

So, without really thinking about the consequences of my actions, I opened the door. Natsu Dragneel was looking at me with a wide grin—the kind that you couldn't help but punch.

"So, it looks like our bella is still half asleep?" I paused. I could hardly believe my eyes.

"...It's belle you moron," I slammed the door shut and after a long silence, I screamed. "Why the fuck are you in France?!"

I was glad he couldn't see me.

"Okay, now that our little miss 'belle' have calmed down," Natsu grinned mischievously. "Where's my welcome hug? Aren't you supposed to be jumping in joy because finally the diva has finally come into the town?"

"You mean the moron has finally come into the town,"

"Why are you such an arse?" He groaned. "Is this the effect of your new friends? Have I no space now in your small, small evil heart?"

I punched him lightly. "You dare say that when your soul is literally black."

"My soul is freaking fuchsia, can you not," He made a face.

"You told me it was gold last month!" I feigned a horrified expression.

"It changes color every day," He shrugged and then laughed. I joined him. It was always so easy to talk to Natsu. I could hardly believe this is real.

"Jokes aside, why are you here, Natsu?" I looked at him. He was warm, so terribly warm. It never occurred to me until I saw him again.

"Well, isn't it obvious?" He was also looking at me. I felt a knot in my stomach and I couldn't help but shiver. He's making me feel weird and I don't hate it. Not at all.

"I have no intention of becoming a memory," He chuckled as he pinched my cheeks. I made no effort to protest. I was taking him in. "I know you'd come visit from time to time but during those times that I'm away from you, I'd just be a lonely piece of memory and isn't that sad?"

"Besides, it seems that you're having trouble with your real love life," His boyish grin was as bright as ever. "It's because you're missing the sweet pixie dust of your fake boyfriend aka your bestest friend ever."

I laughed.

"Yeah," My smile was sincere. "I need you."
