SHAWN
"Alright alright!" Cameron laughed, pushing Aaron's shoulder.
"Who's turn is it?" He looked around the room and I dreaded raising my hand but I kinda have to.
"It's shawns turn." Taylor called out. Cameron looked at me with his head turned sideways and a devilish smirk. Oh god help me.
"You have to do this dare, if not, well.. You'll see." He winked and I gotta admit that I'm terrified. Cameron always has the worst ones, Nash almost got arrested for streaking! I don't wanna do that!
"You have to go to the adoption center and adopt a kid under the age of 5." My eyes just about flew out of my head.
"Are you crazy?!" I yelled, I'm only 19 I can't adopt a kid! That's such a huge responsibility and I'm trying to work on my career! I don't have time for a kid!
"Cam that is a little much.." Taylor said lowly, defending me because I'm helpless.
"You have until the end of next week. Good luck muffin boy." He chuckled and got up, walking towards the kitchen.
He's gonna get it!
"Cameron!" I called after him and of course he didn't turn around. This is insane! I never thought he would go this far!
"Hey if it helps, I can help you with the kid. Nash and Aaron can too, I dare them too anyways." Taylor said and I smiled. Nash and Aaron protested.
"Thanks man" he nodded and I got up from the circle, going to the bathroom to cry to my mom.
I sat down on the floor right in front of the door and dialed my moms number. It rang twice before she answered which is actually the quickest she's ever answered.
"Mom.." I whined, quietly.
"Yes, dear?" She answered. Her voice is calming. I miss her so much.
"Cameron dared me to adopt a little kid, I have until the end of next week and I don't want to!" I played with the rug, anxious to hear her response.
"Well, if you don't want to do it then don't. It's just a dare." She doesn't understand.
"Mom if I don't do this then Cameron might make me streak in public. Remember what happened to Nash?" I asked, trying to prove my point.
"Yes I remember. Just don't do it, they aren't going to kill you. I feel like you should, it'll teach you responsibility and maybe you'll like it. You never know until you try. Besides. You know I'm always here for you." I smiled.
"You're right, thanks mom. I'm gonna do it." This is insane.
"Ok well I've gotta run, if you need anything just call. Oh and when you go up there, call me. I want to see my grandchild as soon as possible."
"Will do ma, love you."
"Love you too." I hung up and put my head in my hands.
Why a kid? Couldn't it have been a dog? Why a kid?!
I stood tall and opened up the door. I walked towards the kitchen and stood with my hands on my hips.
"I'm gonna do it." I said proudly, like the man I am.
"Ok?" Aaron said and they all laughed. I waved them off and sat down at the table.
"So, you called your mom?" Taylor asked and I looked at him confused.
"How'd you--"
"Because you always run to your mom. You're a mamas boy, kid." Nash said with a chuckle.
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes and Cameron handed me an apple.
"So, you gonna get a boy or girl?" Taylor asked out of curiosity and I shrugged.
"I don't really know, what do you guys think I should I get?" I asked, taking a chunk out of the Apple.
"A girl." Nash smiled.
"No way, you should get a boy." Aaron said and Cameron shook his head.
"A girl would be way easier." Cameron added with a shrug and Taylor looked at him like he was an idiot.
"Uh, no. Periods, mood swings, boyfriends, drama, makeup, clothes, hair, etc." Taylor said in a duh tone and Nash furrowed his brows.
"Right but a little girl would teach him more responsibility. Think about it, wouldn't you love to be able to be protective when she brings home a boy one day or help her with her insecurities and girl drama? I'd love that." Nash said, defending his idea.
"That is true.." Taylor said and Aaron shrugged.
"I don't know.. I'll think about it. Nash is right, I would love that but still a girl would be harder to take care of and I'm still a teenager." I said and Cameron sighed.
"That's the point Shawn, you'll be way more educated when you get a girlfriend or wife. Plus none of that stuff comes until later in life." He said and I nodded.
"You're right, but like I said, I'll think about it." They nodded and I got up to stretch.
"I'm gonna hit the sack, night." I said, it's only 9 but I am exhausted.
"Night." They all said and I made my way to my room.
The rest of MAGCON will be here tomorrow and maybe they'll help me. Mahogany will be a huge help with the girl thing.
I took my clothes off, apart from my boxers of course, and laid down.
My own little girl. Huh. Maybe a little girl isn't such a bad idea after all. I mean, the more responsibility could help me in the end. And Cameron was right, most of that isn't until I'm old. Ew, I don't wanna be old. I don't wanna over think it.
I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep, with the thought of a child on my mind.
