[A/n]: Hey everyone! This is my first fanfiction on Wattpad and let's just say, Wattpad is a lot easier to use, when writing and reading stories, than Quotev, which I am used to using. Please feel free to comment any suggestions for future chapters, and as you can see, this is the first chapter, so I will be mainly introducing characters and the setting and stuff. I hope you guys enjoy it! -Taylor (NuevaCielo)

{Reader POV}

Nervous yet excited, you wake up and get ready for your first day at your new school. Last night you had set out an outfit for your first day. You picked out a brand new t-shirt that your mom had gotten you for your birthday, only a few days ago, that had a picture from your favorite anime on it. You also picked out a pair of plain, dark grey pants and you planned on wearing your extremely comfortable, tall, light grey Ugg boots. 'No reason not to be comfy on my first day.' You said to yourself as you got dressed. You practically ran down the stairs, eager to eat breakfast and set out for school.
"Morning Hon." Your mom called from the kitchen table as you popped some waffles in the toaster.
"Morning! I'm so nervous, but I'm so excited! Is that normal...?" You practically yelled.
"It's always normal to be nervous on the first day Hon. Oh yeah and-" She paused as she took a sip of coffee. "I'm going to have to work late, so could you make some dinner before your father and I get home?"
"Yeah, sure." You said. You always loved being home alone after school, you would always play the kind of music you loved without being interrupted. You sat down at the kitchen table and drizzled syrup on your warm waffles.
"Thanks, I have to go to work now actually. I will see you later, have a nice day at school Honey!" She planted a kiss on your forehead as she quickly gathered up her things and left for a long day at work. Sometimes you felt proud of your parents. Your mom was a doctor at the local hospital, while your dad was a police officer, so he was almost never home anyways. You always had everything you had ever wanted. Your family had definitely never been poor, but weren't exactly rich either. Your parents both made a lot of money at their jobs, and a lot of it went towards family trips. You were always going on vacations to places like the Bahamas, Australia, and you'd even been to Europe a couple of times. It was definitely a change of scenery when you did go on trips, every place being a lot different from the state of Massachusetts, the place you've called home your whole life. You recently moved to another town, being the cause you you going to a new school. 'Hmm, what time is it...?' You thought as you finished your waffles and glanced up at the clock. '7:38.' You looked away front the clock and thought for a moment before yelling "Wait! 7:38?! I'm going to be late! And on my first day, too!" You felt your heart start racing as you bolted around the house trying to gather up your things last minute.
After you got everything you needed, you slammed the door behind you and started speed-walking to school.

>time skip~ you arrive at school<

You finally arrive at your new school, with plenty of time before the first bell. You could have sworn you were going to be late... You frantically search for your locker and ask around to see if anyone will help you, but everybody is too caught up in either their phones or they are all talking to their friends. You spin around and harshly knock into a boy, making you topple over and drop all of the school supplies you are carrying.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" The boy said, stunned to have run into you.
"It's okay, I'm fine." You glanced up at him and he gave you a apologetic smile. He had short, dark brown hair and had patches of freckles on each cheek. He was quite tall, and once he helped you up, you realized how tall he really was. He must have been at least three or four inches taller than you.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there."
"It's fine, don't worry about it!" You said in return. "Hey, umm, could you help me find my locker?" You asked him.
"Oh, yeah, of course! My name is Marco, by the way."
"Thanks, Marco. My name is [Y/n]."
"Nice to meet you [Y/n], sorry for crashing into you."
"Once again, it's okay. It was my fault, I wasn't watching my surroundings." You said, nervous as ever. He gave a small chuckle and then spoke, "Are you a freshman?"
"Sophomore, actually." You replied.
"Oh, well, then are you new here? I'm assuming you are, because we have the same locker very year, and you seem to be having some trouble finding yours." You laughed lightly.
"Yeah, I moved here about a week ago. Today is my first day. What grade are you in?"
"Oh, I'm also a sophomore."
"Neato. So can you show me to my locker?"
"Oh yeah, definitely. If you need help finding any of your classes, you can always ask me."
"Okay thanks, Marco." He took the paper you were holding that had your locker number on it and led you straight to it.
"Vólia!" He made a little hand gesture towards your locker. You chuckled. "I have to get ready for first period, I have math with Mrs. Hardy. What do you have?" You studied your schedule and found your first period.
"It looks like I'm in room 472."
"Oh nice, that's Mrs. Hardy's room! Looks like we'll be having class together!"
"Awesome! Umm, can we walk together? I don't know where the room is..."
"Well, I actually have to meet up with my friend and go to my locker to get my books, but Mrs. Hardy's room is-" He started making a ton of hand gestures to show you where to go. "- go all the way to the end of this hallway, take a left, and it is the fourth room on your right."
"Okay, great! Thanks again, Marco!" You started off in the direction he pointed you in. Other students were already going to their first class, even though the bell hadn't rung. You knew it was going to ring any minute though, so you started slightly jogging. You jogged until you got the end of the hallway, but when you turned the corner, you ran smack dab right into a boy. His face was looking down at the book he was reading. He had short blonde hair and was about the same height as you, a bit shorter maybe. He gave a quick 'sorry' and continued speed walking down the hall, his nose still in his book. 'Geez, what's wrong with me today and crashing into boys?' You continued walking until you got to your first class. You looked around the classroom, there was no teacher present. Everybody was busy talking to their friends, so they didn't really notice you. You slid into an empty seat at the back of the classroom. You sat alone, silent, as you observed. You noticed Marco walk in a moment later. He waved to you from across the room and walked up to you. A boy around the same age as you was standing behind him, he had followed him in. All he did was kind of look at you and when you caught him staring, he quickly averted his eyes and pretended he wasn't.
"Hey [Y/n]! I see you found your way to class alright."
"Yeah, I did, thanks for the directions." The boy with Marco glanced back down at you and said, "Who's this, Marco?" Marco whipped around to face him. "Oh yeah! This is [Y/n], I met her this morning. She's new. She's in the same grade as us too!"
"Oh, nice to meet you, [Y/n]." He put on a small smile and took a small step forward. "My name is Jean. I'm Marco's boyfriend." You felt your eyes widen, but then gave a big smile. 'I never would have thought that Marco was gay...'  (OTP)
"It's nice to meet you too, Jean!" You shook each others hand and then both Marco and Jean took a seat. Marco was on your right side, with Jean to the right of Marco.
The first bell rang and who you assumed to be the teacher, Mrs. Hardy, walked in moments after. She looked very strict. Her hair was pulled in a tight bun, and she wore dull lipstick. She looked to be in her late 30's, but who really knew? You sure didn't know anything about her. She set a thick stack of papers down on her desk at the side of the room and then walked up to the front to introduce herself.
"Welcome back students. I assume you all had a great Summer?" She said, with a surprisingly cheery voice. You glanced over at Marco and Jean, and you saw Jean yet again quickly turning away from you, while Marco was paying attention to Mrs. Hardy.
"Okay students! I am Mrs. Hardy, for the few freshman that are here. I recognize most of you from previous years." She started naming off a few students and waving to them. Marco was one of them. You had a feeling he was kind of a teachers pet. So far, Mrs. Hardy seemed pretty nice, which you were glad about. There's no fun in having a mean teacher.
"Okay, let's do a quick attendance everyone." You sat up straighter and awaited the calling of your name. There were about nine names before you on the list. Marco and Jean had already both been called off.
"Miss [Y/n] [L/n]."
"Here!" You called out while raising your hand. A few people started talking, you couldn't make out what they were saying.
"Hello dear. I see that you are new here according to this." She gestured to the clipboard holding the list of names. You nodded slightly.
"Welcome to our school Miss [L/n]."
"Thanks." You said. You felt confident about having this class for the rest of the year. After all, you had Marco and Jean, even though you didn't really know Jean. Math wasn't really your strong suit, even in the lower grades. In fact, it was your worst class. You were sure you could pass your class this year though. 'Why am I thinking about the end of the year already? It's only the first day of school!' You yelled at yourself in your head.

>time skip~ three periods later<

'Okay, only two more classes to go, that would be biology, home economics, and one elective, creative writing.'
You sat through a long, dull introduction brought to you by Mr. Livingston, the home economics teacher. All he talked about was how his dog had to get hip surgery over the Summer. You could have sworn you heard someone snoring behind you.
In biology, your teacher, Mr. Anderson, talked about all of the field trips and experiments you would be doing this year. You were actually quite interested in most of the things he mentioned. He seemed nice enough, and he wasn't nearly as boring as Mr. Livingston. You had Jean in your biology class, and you sat next to each other. You hoped to get to know him better. He still was a little bit quiet around you, but was not shy by any means.
The bell rang and you headed to your final class of the day, your elective. You always enjoyed writing stories for fun, so you thought it would be nice to take a creative writing class. You eventually found your way to room 245 and took a seat. Another bell rang right as a few student quickly slipped into the empty seats around the room. A kid with blonde hair sat next to you. Wait- blonde hair? 'Hey! That's the kid I bumped into earlier!' You glanced over at him. He had blue eyes and was, once again, reading a book. You looked at him for a few moments, until he looked up from his book to say "here" for attendance. 'Ugh, I didn't hear what his name was. Whatever, I'll find out later.'  You looked back up at the teacher, who introduced herself as Ms. Cheryl.
"Hi, my name is Armin." You hear a voice, almost a whisper, next to you. You looked over to see the blonde looking at you smiling.
"Oh, hi! My name is [Y/n]. Nice to meet you, I'm new here."
"Oh I'm new as well actually. I'm trying to make some friends." He gave a weak smile. "I'm not doing very well so far..."
"You can be my friend if you want." He perked up a bit. "Really?!" You smiled and nodded. "Oh wow! You're the first person to have said that to me all day." You heard your name being called by Ms. Cheryl. "Here!" You said, in a louder voice than you were using to speak with Armin.
"Oh yeah, I'm sorry for bumping into you earlier." You said.
"Oh, that was you?" He put a finger on his chin and thought for a moment.
"Oh yeah, that was you!" He smiled a genuine smile. You and Armin stopped talking for a while, while the teacher started describing the work we would be doing this year. She talked for another half an hour, until the bell rang. Everyone sprang up and started making their way to the their lockers.
"What locker number do you have, Armin?"
"I'm in 2748."
"Haha, what a coincidence! I'm in 2747! How did we not see each other this morning?"
"I was in and out of my locker pretty quickly this morning." He chuckled a bit. "Didn't want to get trampled."
"Good point." You stated, laughing. You walked to your lockers together and put away all of your books, having no homework on the first day.
"It was nice hanging out, Armin, but I should get home now. I'll definitely talk to you tomorrow though!"
"Okay [Y/n], it was nice talking with you! Thanks for being my friend!" You started walking away slowly, saying "Bye!" and waving. Your slow walking soon turned into jogging.
You arrived at your house to a package on your doorstep. You unlocked the front door and grabbed the package. You went inside, closing the door behind you. You opened up the box and you were joyed with its contents. "Yay! My new book shipment!" You had ordered four new books from Amazon, and they finally arrived. You ran upstairs, jumped onto your bed, and buried your eyes in the fresh-printed words.

[A/n]: Thanks for reading, everyone! I am going to make the chapters about this long every time, so I don't really know how often I will have a chapter done and published. Once I get a few chapters done and posted, I will try to work out a regular schedule for posting them. I hope you enjoyed the first chapter! Thanks!  -Taylor (NuevaCielo)
