October's pov

"Kathryn?" I looked over to her. Her long dirty blonde hair was hanging over the arm of the couch as her head rested on it. Her eyes closed, blocking me from seeing the blue irises. Thick lips pursed as she thought deeply about something.

She was wearing her pajamas. A pair of blue shorts and a navy blue tank top.

I was wearing my silk black lingerie with its matching silk robe. I was laying in the same position, but on the other arm of the couch. My hair flowed over like a blood waterfall. It had just dried after I showered out the dye... leaving my hair blood red. Well it already was, but with a touch up, it looks more like it used to.

Kathryn still didn't answer me. I tapped her leg with my foot to get her attention. She opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Things aren't going to change. Are they?" I asked looking at the ceiling deep in thought.

"I wouldn't say that. Tobi, you have an issue with expecting the worse. Don't do that." She replied sincerely. "I get it, you've lost a lot in your past... but that's no reason to think that you're going to lose Cybil too."

"I don't want to lose Cybil." I said sadly. "I need her a lot more than she realizes. Even before the accident, she had no idea just how much I needed her."

"I get that." She replied.

"She's acting weird." I blurted, and Kathryn gives me a strange look. "I mean. I know she's trying and all, but it's like she's trying to make me happy. Doing things I wouldn't expect her to do. Like last month, Benjamin and Kirby came by to have their pictures taken, and I stopped her and said that she didn't have to come in with us. You know what she does?"

"No Tobi, I wasn't there." Kathryn chuckled sarcastically. I sighed slightly annoyed from her sarcasm.

"She just smiled and walked on in." I finished the tale. "It left me slightly breathless for a moment. It was almost like normal. You know, until she looked around the room studying it."

"Oh no! Cybil's trying to act normal! The world is ending! The sun is on fire! The ocean is flooding! The fish are drowning! The Earth is spinning! And a fucking mysterious gas has settled all throughout earth, and we are currently breathing it in!" She joked sarcastically to show that I was being over dramatic.

"Kathryn, that's not funny. What is she trying to do?" I thought aloud.

"Well, how do you react when she acts like that?" She asked.

"I don't know. I guess happy. It just gives me that feeling of normalcy, but it also gives me hope."

"Well there you go, Tobi. She must've realized how you're affected by what has happened. She's trying to help you while she's helping herself."

"You think so?" I asked looking up at the ceiling again.

"Yeah, but don't go screwing it up, Tobi. This is good. She's trying, just leave it be."

"Its kinda hard to though." I argued. "Very hard. It's like I get this small glimpse of my Cybil. The one that's been there for me for ten years. Then I'm slapped back into reality by this Cybil who has no idea who I am. Has no recollection of who we are as a couple."

"Jesus Tobi, she's not two different people." She said, then sat up to look at me.

"My heart can't take it. My life is her. She's my life, my world... no not my world..." I stopped for a second, and she gave me a confused look. "I'm the world... and she's the sun... I was- am caught in her gravitational pull."
