As I clear my throat, I observe the class that I'm going to handle for another 3 years. As I heard from the other students and teachers that this section is the most notorious of all in G-High. If I describe it, it's like you're entering into the lion's den- but who cares? As long as you give them meat, you're fine. But if they bite, then that's another story.
The students are still noisy and can't seem to be at their places where they need to sit. My veins are starting to pop on the left side of my forehead. "Settle down, Gin. You don't want to leave a bad impression to these guys." my good conscience said. "Don't listen to that weakling, Gin! You need to let these youngsters know who's boss!" my bad conscience protests. Choosing between good and bad is not an easy task for me, so I did the opposite.
When I slam my ruler to the board, the class becomes quiet all of a sudden. It's as if you're the only one and nobody's in there. Most of the students are listening to my introduction, but some aren't. I throw a piece of chalk to the boy who's sleeping behind the black haired guy. He lifts his head up and puts his sleeping mask aside.
"Care to tell me your name?" I said with a stern voice. "Who are you?" he questions me back aloofly. "I'm not one to repeat myself." I answered. "It's your obligation to tell me your identity, is it not?" he said formally. "And it's the same to you, is it not?" I imitated him. The students feel that we're having an intense battle, but I really don't put much attention to the atmosphere between me and the sand haired boy.
Without a choice, the sand haired boy tells me his name. "I'm Okita Sougo. Now, tell me yours." he said. "I'm you're new homeroom teacher, Gin Toki. I will be your teacher till the day you graduate." I replied. The heated debate ends peacefully. The bell rings. The students stands and the black haired guy with glasses guides the students to say their farewells. After that, they leave the room noisily- each of them hanging out with their own groups of friends. The glasses guy approaches me.
"Please bear with us till the end, Mr. Toki." he said as he bows before me. "Lift your head up." I said. I give him a pat on his head. "Are you the class representative of this section?" I asked. "Yes." he replied. "You're hopeless." I said sarcastically. "What?" he replied. "You're hopeless to represent your section. I mean, you can't even make them proper just as you are. I see in your eyes that your classmates doesn't even give you an inch of respect." I said. "In short, I'm demeaned?" he concluded.
"Exactly. You're demeaned by your classmates." I said straight forward. "My name is Shinpachi Shimura, sir." he said and bows before me. "Instead of sir, why don't you call me Gin?" I said. "I'm not in the position to do so, sir." he replied. "Who cares? I'll be your first friend here, because everybody's not so friendly to you anyways." I said. "You're kind of degrading me." he replied with insecurity.
"Yes, I AM degrading you." I said blatantly. "Now, pick up your disheartened spirit, and we'll transform this shitty section to a cool and a high spirited one." I said. "As I recall, you're not one to swear in campus. That's written in the campus rules. Didn't you read that?" he asked. "To hell with rules, I'll make my own for this section to change." I answered.
Suddenly, the door slams open and a vermillion haired girl with nerdy glasses approaches. "I'm Kagura. I'm the queen of this class. Bow down before me!" she proclaims. I hit her head with my huge paper fan and chastise her. "I'M the one who's superior, so you being "queen" is ineffective to me." I said sternly. "Then I shall help you sire." she answered rather beyond formal. "She quickly becomes his servant!?" Shinpachi remarks loudly.
"From this day on, you two will be my right and left hand for the sake of this class's reformation. You are the only ones who can call me by my first name, because I regard you guys as my special companions." I proudly said. The two students become happy upon hearing this declaration. Outside, 3 other students are watching behind the windows. I paid no attention to those boys because I realized the room is sound proofed.
