Chapter 3

I started to freak than I remembered we ordered pizza.
They took forever almost a hour!

"Yay, I am hungry" Ava said
"I'll get it" I said heading to the door while they cleaned up the game.

I opened the door and I immediately recognized the pizza guy.

Skate my bully, really is name is Nate but, he hates that name so people called him Skate. I thought I could be free from him,since no more school. ugh! The real damage he does is push me and call me names that's it but, it still hurts. I used to be the 'mean girl' like tough on the outside, until I met him.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when he started talking.
"That will be $18.59" He said looking down

"Yeah here" I hand him the money then he looks up his eyes widen when he saw me.
I got scared until he said "Scarlet?"

I nodd. He smiles slightly and scratched the back of his neck.
"I need to say I'm sorry. Every time I would hurt you I didn't do it because I enjoyed it." He paused for a minute before continuing.
"It was because of my reputation. I didn't mean any of it" He finished and I just wanted to cry my eyes out he only has bullied me for half a year. I always wondered why he never tracked me down or bully me outside of school but,he is still a bad guy.

"Really, for your reputation?" I said I wasn't upset anymore only anger filled my body.
"I didn't mean it that way you know what I mean." He said I think he was more confused then I was.

"Can I have my pizza?" I asked annoyed
"Yeah, but just know I am sorry"

"Yeah,yeah but, don't think I will forgive you." I said and with that I slammed the door shut.
It must have scared my mom and she came running down the stairs yelling "WHAT JUST HAPPENED??" " Nothing mom, I'm fine"

"You sure?" "Yes mom" "Wait, you called m-" Mom was cut off by Ava screaming,
"CAN WE EAT NOW?"
"Yeah come down" I said back to her.

After that I stayed silent I just ate my pizza in silence. I felt bad because I didn't tell mom anything I know she wanted to know what happened but, she was also nervous.
"Mom?" I asked
"Yes?"
"I am sorry I have been silent it was just that the pizza guy used to be a friend and you know..." I said trailing off
I was only half lying I mean yes me and Skate were friends until he started to bully others and then I became a target.
"Did you two date?" Mom asked with a face I can't explain.
"NO!" I yelled a little more than I needed to.
"Sorry, just a question" She sounded worried.
"Yeah I know sorry, it is just we had history but, not that kind of history"
"Just let me know when you want to talk about it"
"Thanks Mom" I said while bringing her into a hug. "You are calling me mom." She said and sighed happy like. I just laughed quietly.

"Since it is only 2 almost 3, want to watch the movie?"
Ava answered before I could and screamed "Yeah!" I nodded in agreement
So we ended up watching 'Home Alone' & 'Home Alone 2' I wasn't even paying attention all I was thinking about was New York, Skate, and my birthmom. What if my mom didn't like me? What did Skate mean by he had no choice? What will New York be like? All these thoughts inside my head I just couldn't think straight. Ugh why is life crazy and out of control? What did I do wrong?

I was knocked out of my thoughts when I heard snoring I turned to see Mom and Ava fast asleep the movie was almost over anyway. I got up and turned off the tv and the dvd player and I checked the time "5:00" I said to myself then all of sudden the door flung open I got scared and hid. "Scarlet?" a voice said I recognized the voice it was Austin. "Austin?" I said getting out of my hiding place. "Yeah, can you help me with Alex?" He said while holding Alex with his arm around his shoulder "Yeah" Is all I could say while grabbing his other arm and putting it around my shoulder.

"What happened?" I asked while walking up the stairs carefully

"I was hoping you wouldn't ask" He said looking everywhere but at me and scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
"What happened?" I said in a stern voice.

"He had too much to drink" Is all he said when we walked into Alex's room.

"You guys went to a party?" I asked
"Well, that wasn't the plan at first."

"Go on" I asked pretty curious. When we got into the room, we laid Apex down and put him to bed. I was standing until Austin sat down at the edge o the bed and patted the spot next to him.

"We did go to the mall, He wanted to go and look at new skateboards and stuff.We walked into store and there she was. With her friends like she didn't do anything to Alex-" I cut him off
"Wait, What did she do to Alex?!" I asked raising my voice and standing up.
"Shh, everyone else is asleep. I forgot you didn't know(he stopped talking and slowly took a breath in and out) she 'supposedly' got drunk and slept with another dude."
"What!?, that is what you guys were talking about right?" I said referring to this morning. "Yeah, remember that party she had at her house," I nodded, "That next morning we saw them walk out of the house together barely wearing any clothes." I am gonna kill a bîtch today! I thought. When Austin saw I was in deep thought he continued with the story.

"So we were at the mall she asked us if we wanted to go to a party with her. I didn't want to go but Alex keeps going back under her spell and said yes for us"
"Continue please" I said but, I kinda didn't want to know because I already want to break her but, I have to know what she did to my brother.

"When we got there we promised each other that we would not drink until he saw Stacy with another guy. Alex started to drink away after that I lost him after like 30mins I found him. He was passed out by the time we got into the car." He said finishing the story.
"I can't believe this!" I said standing up and pacing back and forth.

"I know" He said disappointed
"What is wrong?" I asked scared of what he might say
"Nothing, I feel like I could have been a better Bestfriend to him." Austin said with his head in his hands.
"Hey, look at me." I said while pulling up his hands.

"You are an amazing bestfriend, don't let this ruin what you think of yourself"

I said bringing him into a hug.
"Thank you, I don't deserve a Bestfriend like you."
"No you don't" I said sarcastically.

We just started to laugh until my laugh turned into a yawn. "Hey, I am going to bed we both have a big day tomorrow" I said finishing it off with a laugh. He was gonna spend the night like he always does. This is basically his second home.

he nodded and said "Goodnight! I love you" Wait hold on I know what you are thinking 'I love you' big right for two bestfriends. HE IS BASICALLY MY BROTHER CALM YOURSELF.

"Love you too" With that I left Alex's room and went to go check up on mom and Ava.

Ava sill lightly snoring. God she is adorable! Even though she is 18 she is still amazing and adorable. I went to my room and plugged up my phone and changed into Pjs.

Laying on the bed I realized that tomorrow I am going to go to New York and will probably meet my birth mom, this is too exciting. Shortly after I passed out peacefully for the first time in a while.
