Love Sick

My neighbor Reniel had invited me to a night swimming party in a Palawan resort. When he introduced me to his classmate, Natalie, I immediately fell in love with her.
Natalie, was absolutely stunning. She was beautiful and sexy, and she was intelligent and talented to boot. I was never far from her that night.

We kept in touch from then on. We'd go out for dinner, I'd meet her friends, and she'd meet mine. I was madly in love with her. I could sense that she felt something for me, too.

While chatting on the Internet one night, I told her that I wanted to visit her at her home. I wanted to meet her parents, if it was okay with her.

"Are you sure about your plan?" She asked.

"I was never more serious in my life," I replied.

"Okay, but there's something I have to tell you first so you wouldn't be shocked when you get here."

"What's that?" I asked.

"Arjay, I have a baby. Three years old na. And if you intend to court me, if you really love me, you have to accept and love her too. It wouldn't be hard for you to love her naman e. Very lovable ang baby ko."

"Cute ba siya?" I forced myself to type.

"Sobra! Hawig sa mommy!" She replied. "So, when do you plan to come over?"

"Let me think about it," I typed. I was very much dismayed at this turn of events.

"Ganoon?" She replied.

I couldn't sleep that night. I come from a conservative family and I had wanted to marry a virgin. In fact, my family expected to marry a virgin. What will my relatives say if I got together with Natalie, a single mother?

I decided to forget about her. There were other girls out there, right?

But I couldn't. I could not just forget her and look for another. I realized that I was just torturing myself. It didn't matter whether she was a virgin or not, it didn't matter if she had a child; the fact was that I love her. I was truly and madly in love with her!

I immediately set a date to visit her. When I got there, I was surprised to find out that pinagtripan lang niya ako about her baby. It turned out that the "baby" she was talking about was her Angora cat, Cushion.
"This is my three-year-old baby," she said. She let me carry Cushion. I held the little fur ball in my arms. For a small cat, he was pretty heavy. I was at a loss for words; I didn't know what to say.

"Cat got your tongue?" She teased me. "Don't tell me this is the first time you've seen and handled a cat."

"Of course not!"

"Were you thinking that I meant a real baby?"

"Yes," I said. "I thought you were a single mother."

"And what if I were? Would you still love me?"

"At first I didn't, but when I thought about it, I realized that I love you and I will love everything about you, including your baby."

She smiled at me and didn't say anything for a while. She stood up and held out her hand.

"Come. I'll introduce you to my parents."

She didn't become my girlfriend right away. Since I had made her wait for two months when I learned about her "baby," she decided to let me wait another two months before she answered me.

I didn't matter to me. Those two months quickly flew by; now we're together. I intend to marry her and have a real baby soon.
