Sorry if there's any mistakes. I didn't proof read, sorry.

RILEY POV

Days pasted and nothing changed. I was discharged from the hospital. Parents are still taking extra care of me. Maya, Farkle, and Smackle have come to see me multiple of times. Yet things still don't seem the same. I don't want to ask though, I somehow feel like I'm being a bother if I do. I'd rather not dwell on what happened before the accident. As we could see life is very delicate and I think what's best for all of us is if we just live for now and not worry about the past or future. The only problem with that is what's in my past is something I can't remember, but want to. Someone who apparently is really important to me. I still haven't gotten my memory back and I could tell he's hurting.

Lucas has come by every now and then, but I can tell it's hard for him to see me and I can't look at him the same way. It hurts me too. I wish I remembered him. Lucas seems like a really good guy and someone who wants the best for his friends. Anyone can tell just by looking at him. Suddenly I hear knocking on my door which sadly took me away from my thoughts.

"Who is it?" I asked. It was probably Maya since she was just let out of school.

"Your best friend. Can I come in?"

"Yeah, you know you don't have to ask."

"I know it's just-" Maya stopped as she opened the door and looked at me. "You haven't gotten ready yet?!"

"Why would I get ready? I get to stay home from school and get to sleep in bed all day. If anything I'm staying in my pajamas."

"But today's a special day and I thought you were already feeling better."

"A whole lot better, but that doesn't mean I can't stay home from school for a couple more days." I smiled. I did feel better, these pain killers my doctor gave me worked wonders.

"You know you can stay in bed for the rest of the week, but today you are getting dolled up and feeling special." Maya said as she dragged me out of bed.

Maya brought me to my dresser where I had my mirror to show me how big of a mess I look. "Okay, maybe I do need to clean up a bit." I said giving in.

"Well just a little clean up. You know you look beautiful no matter what." Maya said lifting my head up having me look at my reflection once more.

We smile at each other as she puts her hands on my shoulders. "Happy Birthday Riley."

LUCAS POV

"So you going to Riley's birthday party?" Farkle says grabbing me out of my mind.

"I don't know yet." Of course I want to go to Riley's party, but what's the point? She's not going to remember me. Riley hasn't looked at me the same way I look at her. Everything changed and while I should be there for her, it hard to see her happy when I want her to be happy with me.

"Why? It's Riley we are talking about. She would want you there, regardless if she remembers you or not." Farkle says to convince me.
