Battle scars
I have them on my wrists
I have them on my fat tummy
I have them on my thick thighs
I have them in my broken eyes
I have them deep within my heart
I have them everywhere
Nobody seems to care
Nobody seems to see
Just how broken I can be
Just how lost I can seem
But don't worry
I'm used to this pain
I'm used to
Not showing
My emotions
I'm used to
Seeing and feeling
My battle scars
Nobody will ever find them all
Because some are buried deep
Others above the surface
Never will i ever trust how I used to
When I was stupid
Nobody suspects that I'm depressed
To some I'm to young
To others I'm always smiling
There is one girl that knows how I feel
That has helped me start to heel
That girl is my best friend
I've known her since 3rd grade
I love her like a sister
Her name is Alyssa
She has seen most of my battle scars
Even some that I've buried deep
She has broken down my walls
I can trust her
And for that I thank her.
My battle scars do not show
But maybe one day I will glow
