"We'll have to get y'er robes, I assume they're in your dormitories, but no we don' 'ave time fer 'at, Hagrid rambled on as we walked up to Hogwarts.
The grass was slick with fresh dew, making my feet slip. As we drew closer, I could see the castle more and more. There's so much more to it than the movies. A shiver went up my arms, spreading goosebumps with it.
I was at Hogwarts, the place that I have thought and read about for years. It was so beautiful even more beautiful than how it had looked in the movies. Layla and I, we are in a book. This is so amazing.
Then a thought occurred to me, this place, this place was home to so many witches and wizards, what if it becomes my home too.
"I know, we can get yer spare robes from the closet by the g'reat h'all, ere we are Hogwarts, home sweet home," Hagrid announced proudly.
We stood in front of the castle. Layla squeezed my hand and I wasn't sure if it was for her benefit or mine but either way it was good. We walked in with Hagrid in the lead.
Oh c'mon girls y'er look like a couple o' first y'ears, 'urry it up," he said kindly.
Panic swept through me. What house are we in? Do we have classes together? Do I have friends here? Layla squeezed my hand, pulling me out of my thoughts.. As we walked into the entrance hall a ghost appeared in front of me.
"Nervous aren't you, look a little old for a firstie though," the ghost said and then floated away.
"That must be Peeves," Layla whispered to me nervously.
"I'll be right back, y'er wait right 'ere, Hagrid said as he walked into a small door.
A moment later Hagrid returned with two robes, one had the Gryffindor emblem on it and the other had Ravenclaw.
"Oh my god, our those our robes!!!!!," I exclaimed excitement written all over my face.
"We're not in the same house?" Layla asked. A shadow of worry crossed her eyes.
"Well they aren't y'er robes, yours are in your dormitories but it's the best I c'an do, and yes Layla, y'er not in the same house, Lexi is in Gryfindor and y'er in Ravenclaw, but y'er already know that. Now 'urry up I don't want ter miss the feast," Hagrid said.
