windy, chilly, and very scary are only a few words to describe what I felt going outside. I knew it was winter season but I hadn't been in it before, I was only born a few months ago!
the top of the box closes and I try to look through the breathing slots on the side, I saw a red box with wheels and we got in, my pellets and bedding were moving around the small room I was in, one pellet hit my nose.
I hear gentle whispers and it's from the girl.
"hi baby girl, I'm Olivia Scorciolla, I'm going to be your mommy from here on, I got everything ready at home for you, a cage and food water and bedding, I also have a surprise when we get home. but one problem, you don't have a name yet...."
it gets hard to hear her because she looks like she is concentrating. I then hear a tune, it's a song, it's going: 'why, why, WHY???? delilah, *trumpet noises*'
Olivia's mom turns it off, and Olivia asks her how old that song was,
"oh I'm not sure, but it's from Tom-"
"jones, yea I know, I love that song so much!" Olivia says and her eyes light up, "delilah! mom! I'm going to call her delilah, it suits her you know? isn't that right, delilah?" Olivia puts her finger near the hole, I smell food and out of habit I bite it,
"ouch, delilah, no no no, biting isn't nice. plus that hurt, hmmm. mom are their any bandaids?"
olivia gets all 'patched up' and opens the top of the box,
and I accidentally pooped... I got the crap scared out of me! she looked concerned and introduced her finger again, I licked it instead of biting, it may smell like food, but it isn't. I'll have to remember that.
she the pets my tail, rubbing it and then checking her fingers.
I didn't know this at the time, but I know now that she was a new mom, I was her first hamster, she was checking if I had wet tail, wet tail is a poop problem where hamsters don't have enough water and their poo gets backed up. usually when you find out it's too late and no matter what the hamster has a chance of dying.
"hey mom, she is really pretty, huh?"
"I guess, just don't let her crawl alone or come near me! they are still rodents, and they bite too."
"mom, Delilah may be rodent by genes, but by heart I bet she is a lovely girl, who enjoys lounging around doing nothing, just like me, and I'm amazing, so she will be too."
"if you say so."
I like how Olivia is saying all these nice things about me, and only sees the good in me.

Gravity starts to balance and we go outside the box with wheels and its a bit warmer than the first time I was outside, but still cold.
I am introduced to a loud rowdy environment with a cat meowing at the floor.
"I smell food! mommy did you bring my food! or is it a play toy for me!" the cat tries to jump up at my box, but he is pushed to the side with a foot and a door separates everyone from Olivia and I.
"I'm sorry about the noise, my brothers are on their game things. oh and don't worry about Oscar, he's just a lazy fluff ball of a cat. he wouldn't harm you. and if he would...." she opens the top of my box, "I wouldn't let him get near you!"
she carries my box to a little cage, no bigger than my old one, glass walls, she doesn't push me out of the box or forces anything, she sets the box down with the open top on the side, I slightly step out, and I go back in, I want to go out but I'm afraid something will harm me, there are muffled loud human noises from behind the door, and that cat freaked me out!
I may stay in here,
but then again, that food bowl in the corner looks good, and so does the water.......
I step fully out....
