Sam:
The hours of the night seemed to revolve in seconds, the day becoming much longer than it ever was before. This curse was something Xanthe explained to me in detail, telling me I would be even weaker as the day light hours passed. My skin tingled and my drowsiness lasted until the sun gave away its last kiss before it disappeared under the horizon.
Xanthe told me a lot of things about his past while I was waiting in my endless daze for the shroud of darkness to cover the sky for only such a short time. I have to admit, it made me like him a little more, but that was only because he was showing me a different side to him. A kind one, one that didn't scream "I'm an arrogant ass" all the time. He could get on my nerves from time to time but I could see he was honestly working on it.
He wasn't here at the moment, and that also took a toll of my body but I wasn't complaining—no actually I was. I wanted him to be next to me at all times but I know that just wasn't possible because he's busy and all. I just want him to hold me, and yes I know, it sounds stupid, but to me when his arms around me I feel the most at ease.
My gums hurt too; he didn't give me any blood this morning and I wasn't sure why but I could only assume he wanted me to sleep as much as I could.
I groaned, turning around in the bed to avoid my thoughts of blood. It seemed that's all I think about anymore, either it be Xanthe, sex or blood. I've really turned into a monster.
I sighed into the pillow, hugging it as close to my body as possible. This wasn't like being cuddled from behind but it's the only thing I had. Xanthe said he did most of the work around here, and I can actually believe that but still it seemed hard believe he's always working.
I laid there until I grew bored with my thoughts and couldn't contain myself anymore. I got up to look around the room as I wasn't allowed out but I didn't mind—I didn't know what I would do if I lost control of myself. So I skimmed through the books and some of his things, not worried or not if this was considered snooping.
I sat behind his desk wondering what type of things he did here. Nothing was standing out in particular, it was just a bunch of useless files. I picked up a small blue folder nothing it had some fancy handwriting on it and must be something important. A piece of paper fell out as I opened the two side folder, fluttering a ways before it landed on the desk. I ran my fingers over the thin parchment, before examining the contents.
It looked to be a shipment order from another dome, but what was weird was the signature at the bottom of the paper.
It was signed: R.E. Harison
That name was so familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe someone I knew when I was younger, I shrugged what would it matter now anyway? It was strange, there was no address or any contact information just a couple numbers.
Coordinates maybe? I read over the words trying to find some sort of hint to my question.
Thanks for the supplies, we sent over our part our part of the deal, and hope your end doesn't stop either.
I heard the stepping of feet (something I had grown accustomed to hearing with these new ears) and quickly put the letter back down on the table. Xanthe came in, his nose buried in a document as usual.
"Baby, are you hungry?" he didn't even look up which was very irritating.
"I could be." I said and he smiled softly at my passive answer before coming over to my spot to press his lips to mine briefly.
