Carter's POV
Three days later, it was finally Thanksgiving. Me and Michael made the decision that we would host dinner at Neverland instead of my house, just because Neverland has more space.
My mom and dad had come down from Calabasas and my mom was helping me out in the kitchen while Michael and my dad were off somewhere doing whatever.
"Didn't you say that dinner started at 1?" My mom asked me while she cut celery. "Its almost 1:30."
"Yeah, I did but all Jacksons are late so no reason to panic mommy," I told her.
"Still, you'd think that they'd at least call," she rolled her eyes.
I put down the knife I was holding and turned to face her. "Mommy, I'm asking you, no I'm begging you, please be nice today."
"I'm going to be nice. What makes you think I'm not going to be nice?"
"You're furrowing your eyebrows. You only do that when you're irritated," I explained.
She stopped and looked at me. "Please mommy. I'm already stressed enough with Joseph coming, I don't need anything to go wrong." I told her.
"Alright, alright," she sighed, making me smile. "But only because you're my only child."
I squealed. "Aww, thank you mommy." I hugged her tightly. Just then, the doorbell rang. I jogged to the door and smoothed down my dress before pulling the door open.
"Hey darling," Katherine greeted me. She held her arms open and I moved into them, hugging her tight.
"Hey mama Katherine. How are you?" I asked as I pulled away from her.
"I'm good, sweetie." I opened the door wider and she stepped in, Joseph following behind her.
"Hello Carter," he said gruffly.
I swallowed roughly and nodded towards him. "Joseph," I replied. I closed the door behind them and Michael walked up to us.
"Hello Mother, Joseph," he said as he hugged his mom. I loved seeing Michael and Katherine together. Michael cherished and worshipped his mother and she treated him the same.
"Hi Michael. You ok?" She rubbed his cheek with her palm.
He nodded. "I'm great Mother." She raised an eyebrow at him and he nodded. She then smiled and patted his cheek.
"Umm, dinner should be ready in a couple of minutes," I spoke up. "You guys can head into the dinning room."
"Ok. Thank you Carter." She said. She slipped off her jacket and I took it from her. Joseph took off his jacket and handed it to Katherine, who handed it to me. They walked off to the dinning room and I was about to go down the hall to put their jackets away when Michael grabbed my arm.
"What Michael?" I smiled once I saw the smirk on his face.
"Let me take those, I'll put them away."
"You sure?"
"Yeah. You've done enough today. Let me help you."
I smiled and handed him the jackets and he draped them over one of his arms.
"Have I told you how beautiful you look today?" He grabbed one of my hands and held them in his.
I had on a white lace dress that was long sleeved, and reached my knees. My makeup was very minimal and my hair was in a sleek ponytail.
"No, you didn't," I answered.
"Well, you look absolutely incredible. I can't believe how lucky I am sometimes."
