"Ce, I told you. Maddie's fine."
Somehow I doubted that. "Why aren't you telling me where she is?" I demanded looking around once again for Maddie. There was police tape all around the border of our yard, surprisingly there weren't any neighbors outside trying to find out what's going on. Something isn't right. Why does everyone seem to think nothing happened/ Well, everyone besides the police. As if they read my mind the police started taking down all the police tape and left.
'Ce, everything is fine," Jake said. More like demanded actually. Like he was trying to make me think nothing had happened. Something defiantly wasn't right.
"No. Everything is not alright, Jake," I mumbled, running away. He called after me but I didn't look back, and wasn't planning to. I just ran. I had to figure out what was going on.

Later that day when I went to sleep I had another strange dream.
I was walking home from school and I kept hearing Maddie's laugh like she was right next to me. But she wasn't. I ignored it thinking I was just being paranoid. When I got home I saw Maddie, so I said 'hi'. She turned around and screamed, her face full of blood and tears. "Maddie..." I whisper. She just tilts her head like she's confused. Oh God. She's gone psychotic, I thought. She then started walking up to me her mouth open, silently screaming.
I woke up gasping. I got up to get something to drink. When I passed Maddie's room I went to check if she was asleep. She wasn't in her room. Before I could question it she came up behind me with a glass of water. I screamed.
"Shhh, Ce! It's just me. I got some water for you," She held up the glass.
"Thanks," I mumbled.
