Chapter 6

Flow

"Guys, I'd like to introduce you to someone. She's going to be helping me out for awhile so I know that you will welcome her and make sure to listen to and respect whatever she brings to the table, right?" Aesha smiles at the big group of teenagers.

I don't think anybody here is a day over 15. I feel relieved a little by the age range. Some of them looked at me with no sort of expression, a few girls smiled at me and the others just didn't look bothered by my presence.

"Uh, hey. A lot of people call me Flow. I want to teach y'all how to draw.. or at least try." I chuckle. Silence. Ok, awkward. Moving on.

"Did you draw that?" One of the guys said. He pointed to my drawing pad with all of the ideas I came up with.

I held up my drawing pad so everyone could see. "Yes, I drew this. And I can show you a lot more of my drawing and paintings if you will have me to do so."

I scan through the crowd of children. Everyone seems to be interested now. A few nods and a few smiles makes me relax a little more.

"Alright, let's get started." Aesha smiles at me before approaching them with me trailing behind.

Mojo

"Are you and mommy back together?" Yanna asks me. I swallowed hard.

I can feel Tiana's eyes on me. "Um, no baby. We're not." She answers for me.

Yanna looks a little sad. I kiss her cheek. "Hey, look I bought you some candy." I grab the candy from out the store bag and Yanna's face brightens!

It's that easy.

"Go in the kitchen and grab a bowl so you don't spill it all over." Tiana informs Yanna. She obeys.

After she's left, I look over at Tiana. She looks down and grins.

"What?" I smile.

"The way you look at her.. I can just tell you really love her." Tiana plays with her fingers. She does that when she's nervous.

"I really do. She's beautiful and so smart. I don't think she's ever going to have a chance at a love life. I'll kill whoever steps to her like--" Tiana interrupts me.

"I second that!" We both starts to laugh. I hear Yanna's little footsteps approaching and she jumps back on my lap.

"I'm hungry. Can you buy me pizza?" She asks me. I can't say no to her.

"But I brought you candy, isn't that enough?" I tease. She shakes her head, smiling big at me.

"Ughh, okay fine. That means you can't have this candy right now." I take the candy from her and put it up for her after she eats some real food.

So after I order the pizza, I go and chill on the couch. Tiana has some movie on. I decided to watch a little. About 10 minutes in, I felt my eyes get heavy.

"Wake up, sleepy head." Tiana taps my thigh before plopping down next to me.

I clear my throat and sits up. She is right, I am sleepy as fuck all of a sudden.

"So, I really appreciate this. Ya know, coming to spend time with Yanna. She really loves you being around again."

I smile. "Anything for baby girl." I close my eyes but I can feel Tiana's on me.

"What's on your mind?" she asks. I want to just spill it all out but I don't need any sympathy. I'm dealing with this.

If Flow was gonna come back, she would've already. I just don't want to think about it so I make up something.

"Work. Boss keeps my ass busy. When I'm not here, I'm there."

"You like your boss?"

"Somewhat." 

The pizza came and we all ate. I wait while Tiana puts Yanna to bed. She come and sits next to me. I am feeling so tired like....

I yawn then so does Tiana.  She gets up and goes to the back.

"You can crash here tonight." She hands me a big blanket and a pillow. I smile and start to take my shoes off.

Tiana walks off but before she disappears to the back I thank her. I really don't feel like driving anymore today.

She smiles and shrugs. "No problem, big head."
