The New Kid

⚫LIAM'S POV⚫

I woke up and looked at the clock. 6:30. I go to school at 8 so I got some time. I got up and did my usual routine which is getting dressed, eating, brushing teeth and putting make up over my bruises and cuts. By the time I finished getting ready it was already 7:30. I gathered my school supplies and said good bye to my parents and my two sisters. I started walking to the school bus. When I got on the bus I took my regular seat in the back being tripped on the way. As I was looking out the window I saw a beautiful girl walking all alone. She had gorgeous long brown hair. That's all I saw from her face. She was skinny but not like anorexic skinny. She was perfect. I wish I could meet her. I wonder if she's going to our school. Probably not because she would've taken the bus. Well she wouldn't like me anyways so I'm wasting my time. I

felt like today was going a different and better day. Hmm weird.

I arrived at the school a couple minutes later. Everyone got into their "groups" and walked in while I was of course alone. I got to my locker and gathered all my things. As I turned around I bumped into someone and we both fell over. Oh no please don't be one of my bullies.

"I-I'm so so sorry!" I said turning to look at the person. As I turned around my eyes widened and I gasped. It was the girl! The girl I saw on the bus!

"It's ok" she mumbled quietly carefully picking up her books.

"L-let me help you" I began picking up her books and giving them to her.

"Thank you. What's your name?" She asked.

"L-Li-" I began but was cut off by yelling.

"Oi! Look who it is! The nerd!" Chris said knocking me over. Oh come on! Not now!

"Oh who's this lovely lady!" Chris said to the girl. He slowly made his way over to her as she backed away.

"L-Lexi P-poppers." She stuttered nervously. Oi, Lexi, that's a beautiful name.

"Well beautiful, you might wanna walk away before you see what I do to this nerd." He said to her. She looked at him and looked at me on the ground. I gave her a weak smile and looked down.

"N-no. I'm staying with him." She replied. My eyes shot up to her wide as saucers. What? She's staying with ME? I just met her though?!

"Alright fine but ill beat you up worse later! Bye loser!" Chris said kicking me in the gut. I groaned as he walked away.

"Oh my Gosh! Are you okay?!" Lexi yelled.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine. I'm u-used to it." I replied smiling.

"Oh I never got your name. As you know I'm Lexi Poppers" she said smiling while extending her hand.

"Liam Payne" I replied taking her hand and giving her a friendly shake.

"D-do you w-want me to s-show you around?" I asked nervously.

"Sure! That would be lovely!" She replied doing a silly dance while smiling.

I smiled for real this time. I walked her to the office to get her schedule. Turns out we have 6 out of 8 classes together! Yes! I silently cheered. I walked her to the first class. As I walked in everyone's heads shot up to see me...and Lexi. I smirked to myself. I watched as everyone's eyes darted back from me to Lexi, clearly surprised.

"Mr.Pay- oh! Who is this!" Mrs. Caldwell asked.

"I'm Lexi Poppers. I moved here from New York. Liam is helping me around the school.

"Lexi replied smiling to the class and to the teacher.

"Okay! Well welcome! Lexi please take a seat next to Chris and Liam next to Andrew." Mrs.Caldwell said. Chris smirked at me. Crap! No I can't have her sitting next to Chris!

"Wait! Since I am her first friend can I sit next to her?" I asked giving Mrs.Caldwell the please-I-will-do-anything look.

"Fine, just take a seat" she replied. Lexi and I walked to the very back of the room taking the last two seats. As we walked back Chris kicked my leg hard causing me to fall. I groaned and pulled myself up glaring at him as he smirked at me.

"Fatass" he mumbled. Fat? I'm not fat. I have been running everyday. I sat in the back with tears In my eyes.

"Are you okay Liam?" Lexi asked looking at me.

"W-what? Oh um y-yeah." I replied wiping my eyes. She nodded with a we-will-talk-later look and then drew her attention to the board.

The rest of the day went slowly by. It consisted of me getting slapped, tripped, name calling and spending time with Lexi. Finally it was lunch. I walked in the cafeteria with Lexi by my side. I was definitely happier then I have ever been. Lexi is super nice and there is something about her that makes my stomach fill with butterflies. We both sat down at a table with food. She looked at me

"Liam, why do people hate you?" She asked nervously.

"I honestly don't know. I haven't done anything to them. They just hate me." I said frowning. She took my hand in hers and I felt sparks. I know it was a friendly gesture though.

"I'm sorry Li, but I will always be here for you. I'm your new best friend!" She yelled laughing. I laughed with her. Man her laugh was beautiful.

"Thank you Lex." I said winking at her. She blushed back. We continued to eat and talk.

⚫LEXI'S POV⚫

Liam Payne. He is the sweetest boy ever. There is something about him that I haven't felt for another boy in a while. I get all tingly inside. When I held his hand in mine I instantly felt sparks. It felt like he did too, but I know he thought of it in a friendly way. Why does everyone hate him. I just don't understand. I will admit, i was bullied too back in New York, a lot, but Im not saying anything to Liam. But I still don't understand why people bully him! He's so nice and funny. He is also very cute if I have to admit. I wanna be there for him, so I'm making a commitment. I'm going to be there for him thick and thin. No matter what happens I will be there for him. Maybe people will stop bullying him. I just hope it doesn't turn on me too.
