"Lexi! Why didn't you tell me you had a new boyfriend?! And that he's not at all a loser like those other guys you always tend to gravitate towards." Delilah exclaimed to her friend as she closed her car door and walked up the driveway.

"Hey! They weren't all losers!" Lexi defended her choice in men, following close behind Delilah.

"Oh, you're right, I'm sorry. The guy at least that one guy worked at Hot Dog on a Stick; he was the only one with a job!" Delilah laughed.

"Alright, maybe they were losers. But that's not the point; did you like him? He's great, right?" Lexi hoped she liked him. She always liked to have her approval when it came to guys because Delilah was so good at picking the out good guys in the sea of scumbags.

"Yes, Lex. He's great, I approve!" She laughed.

Just the words Lexi needed to hear. Delilah hardly ever liked the guys she dated, but then again, could she blame her? Most of them just thought she was hot and were using her for sex. But Damien was different. They'd been dating exclusively for 3 months and he still hasn't tried to have sex with her. He told her he was waiting until she was ready and he wanted to take things slow. No guy had ever said that to her. She could tell he really cared for her; almost as much as she cared for him.

"Lexi! Are you alright?" Delilah interrupted her train of thought.

"Sorry, I was thinking about Damien. Hey, are you hungry? There's leftover Chinese in the fridge from last night." Lexi said, attempting to change the subject. If she thought about him too much, she'd go insane.

"Ugh, yes! I'm starved!" Delilah sighed in relief and she grabbed the boxes out of the fridge and put them in the microwave. She couldn't help but think about tomorrow. The big day. She was nervous but still excited. It was a whole new life for her. A new place, new job, new people, everything. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.

Delilah groaned as she looked at her clock.

4:45a.m.

She still had to pack her stuff up that she had brought with her to Lexi's.

She already loaded up a truck with all the things from her apartment three days ago and it was already on its way to California. Thank god for that. She had half her wardrobe in there and all she has with her is pajamas.

She got out of bed and checked her phone. There was a text from Blake.

Hey Delilah, we can't wait to meet you. Don't forget your plane takes off at 6:00am so don't be late! Your stuff should get here later today. Have a great flight. -Blake

Blake seemed so nice. She couldn't wait to meet him later today. And his daughter of course. She still couldn't wrap her head around the fact that she was going to be living in California. And rent free. That was a big deal, living there was expensive. Not quite as expensive as New York City but still.

She had so many plans for her first day there. She wanted to go to the beach and Rodeo Drive and hopefully some celebrities. Los Angeles was iconic for how many celebrities lived there. She hoped that she wasn't going overboard though. It was her first day and she was sure Blake wouldn't make her work but she didn't want to overstep her limits; she was going there solely for a job after all.

"Flight 492C to Los Angeles, California now boarding." She heard over the load speaker. She grabbed her bag, heavy from the snacks and books she brought for the flight and made her way to her terminal. She had always loved flying. She liked being up in the air; so far away from any problems.

She found her seat and waited for the flight attendant to finish her speech about the emergency exits and life vests.

Once they had taken off and were soaring through the sky, she put in her earphones and turned up her music as she pulled out her book. It was almost a five hour flight with no layovers, so she had prepared lots of entertainment for herself.

Luckily, she had gotten a window seat and the seat next to her was empty, so if she ever had to go to the bathroom she wouldn't feel weird putting her butt in some stranger's face. Always a plus.

As the plane landed on the runway strip, she looked out her window. She could see the ocean from her seat and was starting to get antsy. She wanted to just jump out her window and sprint full speed the water.

She waited until she was waiting for her luggage at the luggage claim to call Blake but as she was pulling out her phone, it started to ring.

"Hello?"

"Hi Delilah, how was your flight?" He beat her to it.

"It was great. I'm actually waiting at the baggage claim." She answered.

"Oh good. The car should be right outside the doors then." He'd arranged for a car and a driver to pick her up from the airport. Talk about fancy.

"Thank you so much. I should be there soon. My bag is here so I should probably go, though. But I'll call you when I'm close alright?" She said as she grabbed her bag from the conveyor belt.

"Sounds good. See you soon Delilah." He sounded so nice, but his raspy deep voice suggested that he was must likely a bigger muscular guy.

As she got in the car, she suddenly became very nervous. She didn't know why, but she hoped it would go away before she got to Blake's house.

When the car stopped and the driver announced that they had arrived, she looked out the window to see a large mansion.

"Holy shit." She couldn't help but mumble out loud. She knew he was rich but not this rich. This would take some getting used to.
