When Delilah emerged from the bathroom thirty minutes later, she was ravishing. Her black dress was sheer partially in the front, showing off her cleavage, and completely sheer in the top half of the back, exposing her fit shoulder blades. Her red-bottomed Louis Vuitton pumps made her legs look even longer than they already were and her make-up and hair was flawless. When it came to fashion Delilah was on top of it. She had a knack for it and she always wanted a job as a stylist but it just wasn't in the cards right now.

"Oh my god! Delilah, how do you do it? You always look so good and you don't even have to try!" Lexi said, staring at her from the top of the stairs.

Delilah blushed, "It's not too much? Where are we going?" She looked up at Lexi only to see a devilish smirk plastered on her face. Oh god, we're going to a club, Delilah thought to herself. She hated clubs. They were crowded, smelled like sweat, and everyone there was drunk and Delilah doesn't drink.

Lexi stepped down the stairs and walked to the front door, Delilah following close behind. She knew complaining about going to a club wouldn't change Lexi's mind, so she just went with it.

"Lexi, what are we doing here?' Delilah asked as they pulled up to a huge house surrounded by immaculately dressed men and women.

"It's a kind of house party. Except it's not teenagers drinking beer and running from the cops, it's well dressed businesspeople and sophisticated drinks. You'll like it I promise. Plus, I have someone I wanted you to meet before you left." Lexi stepped out of the car and onto the paved driveway leading to the front door, Delilah following close behind.

As they found their way into the kitchen, Delilah noticed the crowd of people standing around the counter and laughing.

"Well, what can I say, I like to watch chick-flicks! Is that so bad?" A deep voice emerged from the middle of the circle of people and Lexi's face lit up at the sound.

"Damien!" Lexi laughed. A tall man with blonde hair and a very nice suit paired with a red tie stepped from the group.

"Hey Lexi, I didn't think you would come! But, I'm glad you did! Everyone this is my beautiful girlfriend, Lexi." Damien said proudly to his friends.

That must be who Lexi wanted me to meet. Her new boyfriend. At least he seemed to have a job and be more responsible than some of the other losers she dated. Delilah thought while looking at the couple. Lexi always had a bit of trouble picking guys. She always dated losers, assholes, and guys that just didn't appreciate her. But Damien seemed like he might be a good fit for her.

"Damien, I'd like you to meet my best friend, Delilah. Delilah, this is Damien, my boyfriend." Lexi's introduction interrupted Delilah's train of thought as Damien started to walk towards them and excused himself from his group of friends.

"It's nice to meet you. I'd like to say I've heard a lot about you but I didn't even know you existed." Delilah said playfully, shooting Lexi a look.

Damien laughed and looked over to Lexi. "Babe, you didn't tell her anything? You didn't brag about me to her at all? That's a first!" Damien chuckled and Lexi rolled her eyes. Delilah liked him, he was funny and extremely sarcastic, just like Lexi and Delilah were.

"Well since Lexi over here didn't tell me anything about you, you're going to have to fill in the blanks for me, Damien." Delilah smiled at him.

"Hm, let's see, I'm a lawyer at a big firm here in New York, this is my house, as you may have guessed, I've never been married or had kids, and I'm in love with your best friend." Delilah was refreshed and shocked by his blunt honesty.

"Alright Lexi, I approve!" they all laughed at Delilah's face when Damien finished his sentence. You could see the shock in her eyes when she realized the house they were currently in was his. He was definitely a rich man. But he seemed humble about it, like he didn't rub his money in everyone's face.

As the night went on Delilah learned more and more about Damien and got to know him. It became extremely apparent that he made Lexi happy, happier than she's ever seen her. And she was glad to know that Lexi wouldn't be completely alone when she left. Of course she had other friends, but she wasn't really close with them and didn't talk to them on a daily basis. But now she had him, and Delilah was happy for her.

"Well it was very nice meeting you, Damien. I hope to see you again soon alright?" Delilah said as she stood from the stool she'd been sitting on for the last hour and a half while they all talked. Lexi got up and gave Damien a kiss after he smiled and nodded at Delilah.

"Are we still on for dinner Friday night?" Lexi asked him as she walked toward her best friend.

"Of course. I'll walk you guys out to your car." Such a gentleman.
