Love On The Inside [ON HOLD]

Chapter 2

"Hmm", I sit up and rub my eyes.

"Your awake. You sleep a lot."

"What are you talking about? What time is it?", I asked. Then I

looked around, the field is empty and there was no one around.

"It's 2:23", he replied calmly.

"We are suppose to be in 3rd period. I told you to wake me up when lunch ends", I say a little annoyed.

"I just wanted to let you sleep a little longer."

*Sigh* "Ricardo.....You fell asleep too didn't you?"

"Yeah. Sorry. At least we didn't sleep the whole day, we can still go to 4th period. I

mean you've never missed a day of school or skipped a class so I doubt it'll affect you."

"Yeah...Oh well. It was nice to relax. We have 22 minutes, 4th period doesn't start till 2:45", I say.

"Should we go get something to eat, since we slept during lunch?", he asked.

"Yeah let's go to the café to get something." The café opened last summer, and

it is like a 5 minute walk from school. That's where me and the rest of my friends love

eating at during lunch. Even though we aren't suppose to leave the school's

campus, but the teachers don't really care as long as the principal doesn't find out.

"What are you getting?", I ask Ricardo as we enter the café.

"A sandwich or something like that what about you?", he asked me.

"Hmm....Maybe the green tea ice cream that has cake, strawberries,

and yummy stuff in it", I say reading the menu while trying not to drool.

"You need to eat actual lunch, not dessert", he said nagging me.

"It's the same thing, just sweet."

"No. It's only the same thing to you. Just go ahead and order or we'll miss our next class."

After we ordered, paid, and grabbed our lunch we walked back to school eating our lunch.

"What did you order?", I asked curiously.

"A grilled chicken burger. Do you want a bite?"

"Yes, please", I replied happily and bit into it. It was really good, but now I regret not getting one.

"Do you want it?", he asked me making me a bit surprised.

"But it's your lunch, I can't ta-"

"Don't worry I bought two. Layla, I knew you would want actual lunch", he said laughing lightly.

I blushed a bit. "I was going to share some of my ice cream with, but now I'm not going to."

He just replied back with a shrug. As we got to the school everyone was in the hallway

going to there next class, so we threw away our trash and we both said bye as we

went separate ways.The thing is my class is right here but I don't have the books

I need for my class with me right now. So I had to quickly run to the end

of this hallway, with less than a minute to get to class. But when I got into

my classroom there were some students still not here or were just arriving

and a substitute teacher who didn't get into the classroom until 5 minutes later.

"Really!?!", I say kind of loudly at my seat.

"Hey. I haven't seen you all day. Are you okay Layla?

You weren't in some of your classes", a voice said beside me.
