Sage Ivy
I've been running for months. I don't know how long it's been since I'd actually had a meal or a shower. I need to just keep running, but they always seem to find me.
Negan, the guy in charge of the whole bullshit group, was always on my ass. Everyone else was quivering in fear when they saw him. But I refuse. If I'm gonna die. I'm not going to do it begging for my life. I'm gonna have some pride.
And I guess that was the problem. Negan said I had a "bad attitude."
Honestly, I think he was just being pissy because he likes being in control, and I didn't fear him. Every time I try to leave, he always sends a group after me. He said it was because he needs people to work for him and he didn't like the fact that I practically knew every inch of the bases he had for the Saviors. I was a "liability".Carl grimes
I was tired of this bullshit.
Every time we found a new route to get to the hill top, The Saviors had us blocked in. Maggie is starting to feel worse and these assholes are stopping her from seeing a doctor.
"I found another route Rick."
Eugene said in a thick southern accent.
My dad handed the map to Abraham and we made our way down the bumpy road.I sat to the side of the RV and gazed out the window lost in thought.
That girl we saw on the road looked at me. And it wasn't just a glance. I have to admit, she was very attractive, but at the moment I feel like Enid and I are becoming closer and closer everyday.Plus, it's not like I'll see her ever again.
That's when the RV came to a quick stop. Everyone's body jolted forward a little. "Shit not again." I heard my Dad mumble. And we could see piles of wood filling all the way up until it reached the bottom of the over pass. Blocking us from getting through.
We all made our way out of the high way and looked around for any other ways out. And that's when we heard chains falling. Everyone turned quickly. There was a girl dangling from a chain wrapped around her neck like a noose, that was connected to the highway. She had her hands to her throat trying to get herself up. And that's when I realized, it was the same girl from the road. She just looked a little more beaten up.
"I can try to shoot the chain?"
Aaron told Rick quickly.
My Dad shook his head.
"We need to save our bullets."
I sighed lightly. I wanted to save the girl, but my dad was right. We need to preserve the supplies that we had.Everyone turned around and started walking back to the RV, but we all stopped and whipped back around swiftly when we heard the teen girl gasping for air.
She had somehow pulled her self up the chain so she could breathe, but was barely holding on."She really don't wanna die, does she?"
Daryl chuckled lightly.(Daryl is with them in my version)
Aaron quickly shot the chain and the girl yelped when she fell to her knees.
Then, Aaron ran over to her and asked if she was okay.Sage Ivy
My hands were at my throat and I was gasping for air. A man helped me off of my knees and held onto my arm lightly, making sure I wouldn't collapse.
"Thank you." I looked up at him, still a little dizzy from the lack of air and then turned my gaze over at the people who left me for dead.
"I'm Aaron, what's your name?"
I hesitated telling him. I wasn't totally sure I could trust him, but I knew for a fact that I couldn't trust the people he was with.
"It's okay, you can trust me."
Aaron smiled lightly.
"I'm Sage Ivy."
<<>>After Aaron had helped me into the RV with the rest of the group, I sat on one of the cushioned seats by the window.
My neck had welts around it that throbbed and burned. I gently ran my fingers over my throat and bit back a groan. Then I felt a light tap on my shoulder which made me jerk away.
It was the boy that I saw on the road.
But he was also the one that was going to let me hang."You okay?"
The boy was holding medical supplies in one of his hands and I just looked up at him with a blank expression across my face.
"C-can I help?" He stuttered for some reason but I just nodded. Then he sat down next to me and I sat on my knees facing him.Carl grimes
I sat next to Sage and began to apply peroxide on the cut under her eye with a cotton swab.
"So, uh my names Carl." I said, trying to distract her from the stinging pain. She hissed at the burning sensation I'm assuming, but then began to laugh."What're you laughing at?" I looked at her curiously and she began to giggle even more. "Your name is Carl? Wow your parents were cool." She said through chuckles. I just rolled my eyes lightly, but couldn't help but smile when i saw that grin across her face. She was stunning, even if she was a little bruised. "Haha very funny." I said sarcastically and her laugh died down.
"You're really different from other girls I've met my age." I blurt out and mentally slap myself.
"How so?" She tilted her head lightly in a curious and adorable way.
"You're stronger." I told her sincerely.
Then there was a long silence while I continued to tend to her wounds."Why does Negan want you dead?" The question kind of just came out on its own. Sage moved her body so she was facing forward and no longer looking at me. "I've been apart of his group for a really long time. I know things about him that could get him killed by groups like the one on the hill top, or yours." Sage spoke in an ominous voice that gave me chills. "Do you have any family? Or did you have family?" I'm not sure why, but i wanted to know more about her. "Yeah, it was just me and my mom though." her voice faded and she reached into her pocket, taking out a picture of her and an older women that was obviously related to her.
"Is that her?" I looked over Sage's shoulder to see the picture better. "Yeah." her voice was shaken.
"She was beautiful."
"She was." She adds
I could hear the sadness in her tone. "How'd she go? If you don't mind me asking."
Sage ivy
"She was bit."
I could barely even say the words. The whole thing seemed like it was another life time ago. "She was bit and i had to take care of her. I could've had someone else do it, but it had to be me, you know?" Carl nodded lightly. "My mom was giving birth to my sister when it happened. I put her down. I miss her so much."
I usually never talk to people about this kind of thing, but something about him made me feel like i could trust him, and I wanted to. For the first time in a long time, I wanted to trust someone. But I couldn't, I have to remember that less than 20 minutes ago he was going to let me die. I can't trust anyone.
(Next chapter is going to get interesting... Sage is going to get a little bad ass and I have some cute moments in store for Sage and Carl.)
