I woke up and it seemed pretty dark, so I guessed it was pretty early in the morning. I got out of bed and slowly opened the door to my room, then poked my head out the door. I heard no sound  at all.

I walked to the kitchen and saw Olivia on a rocking chair reading a book. I didn't say anything not wanting to interrupt and went to the fridge to get a bottle of water, then I drank some of it.

"How can I help you miss?" she asked me putting the book away and getting up off the chair.

"No need to help me, I can manage getting water." I smiled. "You can go back to reading your book." I said picking it up from the ground. It was 'A study in Scarlet' from the Sherlock Holmes series. I smiled "I love these books, very interesting."

"Yes, miss, they are indeed." she answered very surprised.

"Have you read this before?" I asked noticing the awareness on her face.

"Yes, the whole collection."

"Why don't you read something else then?"

"Because you can never see all the details on something the first time you see it." she smiled, she seemed very wise.

"You're right..." I smiled to myself. "Go on then, I don't want to keep you from your book." I handed her the book and made sure she was in her chair again.

After a few minutes my mother came in with a small red box with a light pink ribbon on it.

"Happy birthday my dear Olivia!" she said as she handed Olivia the box then hogging her.

"Thank you my queen, but you didn't have to go through all this trouble of getting me a present!" she was a modest and kind person, I admired her for that.

"After all the things that you do to help up?! Of course I do!"

"I didn't know it was your birthday!" I said walking to her and then hugging her. "Happy birthday sweetie!"

"Thank you dear!"

I walked her to the table and told her to stay there while I made her pancakes.

"What are pancakes? I've never heard of them." she asked me.

"You don't have pancakes here?! I definitely have to make you some."

I started making the mixture and the frying them. when they were ready I arranged them nicely on a plate and decorated them with honey, the put the plate in front of Olivia. I turned around and started to clean the place up. She started eating her pancakes.

"These are amazing! How did you make these?!" she asked surprised.

"It's a secret. As today is your birthday I can't tell you. I finished cleaning up, I'm going to take a walk."

"Ok, be careful dear." she said as I hopped out of the kitchen.

I went to my room and put on a pear of light blue jeans, a random top, a jacket and a pear of Dr. Martens. I went down and asked Elizabeth if I could pay for stuff with dollars, she laughed at my question, the handed me a purple wallet. I thanked her and went out. I was walking through town trying to find something i could buy Olivia for her birthday.

As I was walking I saw a little book shop, in that moment I knew exactly what I wanted to buy Olivia. I entered and an old lady greeted me, so did I.

"What can I help you with, dear?" she asked me.

"Do you have anything wrote by Agatha Christie?" I asked.

"Of course!" she leaded me so a shelf and then she showed my the section. I saw some books from the Hercule Poirot series. I picked a few of them, the ones I liked the most and took them back, so I can pay for them.

" I see you like mystery." she said as I handed her the books.

"Yes, very much!" I answered.

She looked at me and she furrowed her eyebrows "You don't seem familiar honey, are you new here?"

"Yes, I'm Ariana Hepburn." I smiled.

Her face dropped in amazement. "You are our princess! Pleasure to meet you!" she bowed in front of me. She looked at the books. "You don't have to pay for these."

"Of course I do! How much are these? I have no idea how these money work."

"Where were you before you were here?" she asked me.

"Canada."

"A Canadian dollar is two folles (their money, sorry I couldn't find a better name). These will be 49 folles." she said kindly.

I handed her the money and thanked her. She put my books in a nice basket and handed it to me. I then left. On my way back I saw a nice store, i entered it and I saw it was full of candy. I couldn't resist the temptation so I bought a tone of candy.

Then I left and right when I was about to take a turn to get to the castle I saw a little girl. She seemed cold and hungry.

"Hey, are you alone, dear?" I asked her. She nodded. "How old are you?" I asked.

"8." She answered. Her skin was almost purple from all the cold. I put down the basket and took off my jacket then wrapped it around her little shoulders.

"Where are your parents?" I asked her.

"I don't know... We were in the forest and they disappeared. Then I started walking and smelled the bakery. And then you came here."

"Ok, come with me, we'll find your parents, ok?" she nodded and then hugged me. I took her little hand and then went back to the castle.

We entered the castle and I shouted for Elizabeth, she quickly came downstairs. "What's the matter dear?"

"I found this little girl near the bakery and sh says she lost her parents." I said.

"Ok, we can find them. What's your name dear?"

"Aurora Sildine." she answered scared.

"Olivia's name is Sildine..." Elizabeth said to herself. "Do you know a woman named Olivia Sildine?" she asked Aurora.

"She's my aunt." she nodded. Elizabeth went to the kitchen to get Olivia when she returned Olivia saw the little girl and she was amazed. She ran to her and hugged her.

"Aurora where are mommy and daddy?" she asked.

"I don't know!" she cried.

"You can stay with me while we're looking for them, ok?" Olivia said. Aurora nodded in agreement.

Olivia went to the kitchen to make her something to eat, and I went to my room to wrap the present for Olivia.

I tied the books together with a nice purple ribbon and a made a nice bow, then I took a light orange piece of paper and wrote the pancake recipe on in, the I sneaked it into one of the books, I  also took the pack of candies so I could give it to Aurora.

I went downstairs with my gifts and entered the kitchen. I placed the books on a chair where Olivia didn't notice them. Then I walked to her and took the knife out of her hand, then turned around and picked up the books and handed them to her. She seemed so happy! She hugged me and a tear streamed down her face.

Then I took the candy form the table where I placed them I handed them to Aurora. She looked as if this was the happiest moment of her life. She hugged me and kissed my cheek.

Then I took the bowl Olivia had planned for her and placed in front of her. She started eating. Me and Olivia went outside the kitchen so we could talk. We decided she could stay here with us. Apparently Olivia's sister never wanted Aurora. I felt so bad! Then we went back to the kitchen and saw Aurora was done eating and she had put her bowl in the sink.

I decided she could stay in my room until we find one that's nicer for a child. She seemed very sleepy, so I gave her one of my t-shirts and a pear of sweats that seemed smaller. She put them on and it looked perfect for a pj. I then told her a story and she fell asleep. After a while of sitting there I did too.
