"Home sweet home..." That's what everyone is supposed to think when they come home from the hospital right? Wrong. At least in my case. I hadn't been home for about a week, and my sisters didn't know. Jack and the twins knew that was it. Well my sisters apparently thought I just decided to disappear for a week with out telling them.
"Where in the good Lord's name have you been?" Poppie signed as soon as she saw me. I didn't respond. "She asked you a question idiot!" Ava signed due to my lack of response. I ignored her too. I was starting to make my way up the stairs to my room when someone pushed me forward, causing me to fall and hit my head on the wooden stair case. I thought I felt blood on my face but I couldn't tell. Before I could even shift Ava begins to hold me down as Poppi hits me as hard as she can in the face. Her right hook catching my eye. I tried to scream in pain but I couldn't tell if I was making noise at all. Ava signed "Maybe next time you'll answer when we ask you a question" as Poppi picked me up by my hair dragging me to my room. Once we reached my room she threw me in and closed the door locking it.
I knew what she was doing she's done it before. She locks and barricades all the possible doors I can leave my room from. Odds are she won't even consider letting me out for three days. She forgets I have a window though. I quickly packed a duffle bag, grabbed my school bagd, and started my way out. I stepped out my window onto the roof, tossing my bags over the side of the house. Once I saw it hit the ground safely I began my trip down. I carefully stepped onto the branch of the tree that is closest to the roof. I then began to manuever through the tree until i reached the ground. I picked up my bags, tightened my ponytail, and took off down the street
Once I got to the twins house, Mary answered the door. She looked me up and down once then sent me a knowing look, while gesturing for me to enter. Max and Mary's house was quaint compared to mine. It was two stories, same as mine, but instead of millions of rooms filled with fancy furniture, but simple things. Some how I loved the things in her house more then the things in mine. Max walked in, shortly followed by both of their parents. "Hey Mr. and Mrs. Gerrick." I signed. They signed hello back and gave me hugs. There house was my home, well it get more like a home then my own. No siblings to beat me, parents that are.... Well never mind about that part. "Okay, A to the fun room." Max signed with one hand as he pointed up the stairs. Mary and I took off running. We were going upstairs to play video games, and maybe a little Foosball. Once upstairs I tossed my stuff into Mary's room, then ran to claim my bean bag and controller. We played video games till all hours of the night. I pretty much kicked both their asses in COD II.
Most nights at their went like that. Sometimes we would watch closed captions movies, and one night we danced to some music. Even though the three of us couldn't hear it Max and Mary's parents were hard of hearing so they could. Plus when the music was loud enough we could feel the vibrations. I left the their house and snuck back into mine late Sunday night. Well I thought I'd be able to sneak back in, but my window wasn't opening. It was locked.AUTHORS NOTE:
Okay so finally a hint at the first name! ☺️ I really want to see people TRY to guess it. Not much happened this chapter. However her window was DUN DUN DUN locked!
