All around the house disarrayed papers and machine parts were dumped down. In fact, one would say that this house was more of a lab rather than a home. The only thing homely about the place was a messy room on the second floor with various blankets thrown haphazardly onto a bed while shelves had countless books stacked on top of them.
On the first floor was the workshop. It was full of mechanical whirs and what-not. Sat between all of the beakers and pipes was a man hunched over a desk.
He was largely built, with big, wide hands and a square jaw. His blonde hair fell over his green eyes at shoulder length, twisting in massive waves of golden locks. He had a scruffy beard on his chin and a determined look in his eye.
In front of him was a tattered and worn notebook. Genetic codes and DNA structures were scribbled down hastily as if he had been trying to push out all of his ideas as if he couldn't hold onto them. In fact, the man was so deeply invested that when someone opened the door and called out his name not once, but twice, he barely batted an eye.
"Jesus Christ, Hector. Are you somewhere in that sea of machinery?" A voice called out. At this, the blonde man looked up and stood. As his head peered over the piles of books around him he saw another man standing with his hands on his hips.
He was built entirely different from the first. Crystal blue eyes squinted over the books with a look of annoyance. This man was tall, much taller, and had a scrawny look to him. Sharp, dark brown hair stood up and grew down in a short beard on his face where a scowl was. His arms were crossed and this man was pissed.
"Hector, there you are." He scoffed.
Lalnable shuffled his way carefully between his projects and made his way out of the work room.
"Oh, um, Xephos! I didn't know you where dropping by..." Lalnable muttered as he finally came to a stop.
"So I was told you couldn't come to work today because you called in terribly sick." Xephos questioned, raising and eyebrow.
Lalnable managed a fake cough.
At this, Xephos threw up his arms in exasperation.
"God damnit, Hector! You can't keep pretending to be sick to get out of work."
"Look, I have a good reason. I've been working on something extremely monumental and I promise as soon as I sketch it all out-" Lalnable argued until he noticed the unconvinced look on his boss' face. With a sigh he held up his old journal.
"You want me to read your diary? I should just fire you, Lalnable. That's what I intended to do when I got here.""It's a journal, mate. Just... read it and give me a chance."
"Diary." Xephos snapped back. "This better be as monumental as you said it would be if you want to stay at Yoglabs." With that, he grabbed Lalnable's journal.
Xephos flipped through the pages and carefully skimmed the book's writings. Despite being head of YogLabs, he was no scientist. Instead, Xephos' job was to keep most things in control and watch over all experiments. His eyebrows were furrowed as he turned each page and forced Lalnable to stand nearby.
Lalnable was in fact only a low level scientist. A rookie in the field who got in just because of his high intelligence. At the moment he was supposed to be working on fixing some dumb coffee machine.
Xephos soon came to a stop in what he was reading. He paused to read it over again fully and then looked at Lalnable over the journal's cover.
"Clones?" He asked, unconvinced.
Lalnable pouted and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Well...I don't know for sure. The formula came to me and I've been trying non-stop to write it all down." He mumbled.
Xephos rocked on his heels and looked at the next few pages before finally coming to a conclusion.
He closed the book and handed it back to Lalnable.
"Well then, in the meantime...keep working on it. But tomorrow you must come to work or you're done for. And don't bother with the coffee machine. What you have in this journal might be worth discussing, so you can meet me and some others to explain what you have already." Xephos ordered out as he walked past Lalnable and to the door.
"I-Thanks! Thanks, Xephos, I'll work my ass off on it!" Lalnable called out as Xephos took to his jet pack to leave.
"You better!" Xephos shouted back as he flew away.
Authors Note-
The backstory of villains has always been really interesting to me, and when Lalnable started to make more appearances in Flux Buddies, I started away at trying to think of a good headcannon story as to why he lashed out. And with the recent Flux Baddies I've been writing down even more ideas. Eventually I came up with this one in particular that I really like and think it explains why Lalnable is the way he is pretty well.I just hope that they don't say anything to ruin my headcannons in any upcoming episodes D:
