"Remain calm! Stay in your seats!" Señora Smithora ordered everyone. However, no one was calm. Then, all of sudden the ground was still again. Everyone started to calm down. Everything was quiet except for the monotonous sound of the clock ticking and loud breathing. Then, there was a huge crash that came from out side the window, scaring all the children.
The window shattered and the smoke alarms screeched sending high pitched noises ringing throughout the classroom. Everyone started to scream and yell and run around the classroom chaotically, knocking over books and pushing desks.
"AHHHHH."
"WE'RE GONNA DIE."
Rose and Tatyana were standing and looking outside for the source of destruction. Outside, it was calm. The wind blew the trees and the fresh air was delightful. There was nothing unusual outside.
"What happened?" Rose asked confused and shocked.
"I have no idea," Tatyana said scared. They continued to watch as their class' sanity disappeared, thinking it could not be worse until the sprinklers went off, adding to the chaos.
"OH MY GOD!" Tatyana yelled.
"Class, line up, lets go," Señora Smithora finally said, trying to take control of the situation again. She started to guide students towards the door when there was a loud growl that thundered through the room. Tatyana turned to the window and froze. She grabbed Rose's arm to keep from falling over. Rose turned to the window too.
There, sitting on the lawn was a mystical creature. It was magnificent and beautiful yet scary. The creature had the body of a very muscular lion. From the midsection back was the body of a goat-like creature where the fur was a dark gray color. Two thick stripes of white fur covered the body of the creature. Claws as sharp as knives and as black as coal emerged from each paw of the beast's front legs. The hooves on the back legs were lava colored. A goat's body and head sprouted from the top of the lion's back. The goat's head was shaped weirdly, its eyes were a blood red and its horns were spiraled and had fire red tips. Where the tail would've been was a thick green snake with a scaly white underside sprouted. It's forked tongue flickered in and out of its mouth. The snake's head was decorated with gold streaks of color. The beast sat still on the grass and stared at Tatyana and Rose demandingly, almost suggesting them to follow, Tatyana could feel it. Rose and Tatyana stood frozen to the spot, staring back. Even though the creature was extremely dangerous, it looked kind of peaceful and gentle, misunderstood almost.
The ground started rumbling again, the sprinklers still spewed water, the fire alarm still screeched, and the students still ran around frantically as more teachers rushed into the room trying to subdue them.
"Come on," Tatyana said, dragging Rose away from the window. They slipped out of the classroom into the hall which was also flooded with students and teachers. Tatyana and Rose found the back exit and looked out the small window of the door. The creature was still visible and it was still sitting on the grass.
"Lets go," Tatyana said pushing the door open and quickly slipping outside towards the creature. The teachers and students were too overwhelmed with the situation to notice. As Tatyana and Rose inched closer to the creature, carefully, it watched them, still not moving. Tatyana twisted her head to the side warily.
When they were a foot away, the creature propelled itself up into a standing position, startling Rose and Tatyana. It glanced at them once more and then started to drift towards the magical forest behind it.
Rose hesitated and looked at Tatyana. "Is this really a good idea?" She asked nervously. "What if it wants to eat us?"
Tatyana looked unsure. "No no no look," she said pointing to the creature which had hesitated as if waiting for them. His snake, goat, and lion heads looking at them. "It wants us to follow it. It's not gonna hurt us. Or eat us. Hopefully," Tatyana added the last word quietly.
"Okay," Rose said not convinced and they started to follow the creature. Keeping a good distance between the beast and them, the girls made their way to the forest.
Tatyana was sure she heard a voice yelling her and Rose's names but, she ignored it and let her curiosity get the best of her.
