It was another normal morning at Acladrath High when Tatyana was walking by the guidance counselor's office. She was almost passed when the door swung open and an elf popped out, scaring Tatyana back a few steps. He looked down the hallway and then up at Tatyana.
"Be warned young child," he said and then scurried down the hallway, bumping into other children. As Tatyana turned to watch him leave, she walked to her locker which was right next to the guidance counselor's office. The elf turned the corner when her best friend Rose stepped in front of her.
"Hey," Rose said smiling. She followed Tatyana's gaze down the hallway but saw nothing.
"Uhhh, what happened?" Rose asked confused.
"An elf... just... said... be warned young child??"
"Well maybe-"
"Get to class children!" Señora Smithora yelled from down the hallway. She was tall, very tall and she glided down the hallway like an angry demon. She passed by Tatyana who was getting her books out of her locker. Rose nodded in acknowledgement.
"What the heck?" Rose questioned after Señora was gone. Tatyana shut her locker and shrugged.
"I have no idea."
They walked to their first class, wondering what the elf meant.
When Tatyana and Rose got to class, the door was open and all their classmates were talking while Señora Smithora sat behind her cluttered desk typing something on her computer. Rose and Tatyana took a seat towards the back of the small, noisy class.
"Did you do the homework?" Tatyana asked Rose as she pulled out her own.
"Nope," Rose said smiling at Tatyana. "Just kidding it's right here," Rose said as she dug a crumpled piece of paper out of her own bag.
"Okay class, quiet down. Quiet down!" Señora Smithora ordered, getting up from her chair. Everyone started to quiet down and relax except for the two girls in the corner who were still giggling. Señora walked towards the front of the class with a stack of papers. "Today, we are continuing to talk about-"
Suddenly the class began to shake. At first, it was just a small thud but then, it grew louder, creeping closer until the room was shaking and things were flying everywhere. Water bottles flew off the desks, markers that were balanced on the whiteboard rim fell and rolled around the chaotic room. People got up from their seats and started to freak out.
