What would have happened to me if Thornton's plan succeeded? Well, I could've been traumatized and then die. I mean, can you just imagine living with spiders beside you for two days? I don't even know what to feel, or could I even feel. Now that I've realized my brother saved me and actually thought about my dear life, I should do something.

Mom left last night to go to our gradma's house, she needs a little help around her new home, so mom's not gonna be around for a few days. She already packed food in the freezer so we won't starve to death.  Well, it's a weekend. It's 7am and he is asleep until 8am or later.I'm thinking of a surprise for him. I shall call it a day of appreciation. I just hope he doesn't make fun of it.

I went downstairs and waded my way to the kitchen. I figured that I'm going to make him pancakes for breakfast. At least, that's what I can do, I'm not a great cook, I almost burned our house when I tried to saute vegetables. VEGETABLES! My goodness. Sigh. I got everything prepared, and now the hardest part is turning on the stove. Not that I got distressed in my past burnt veggies, but the rage of fire once you start it up shocks me, okay? I got passed through that anyway, I'm just being dramatic.

"Hey" I heard him say.

"H-hi, uhm, I didn't think you'd be up this early" I said as I finished preparing the table.

"Yeah, I thought I was smelling something burnt" He said.

"Well, the last pancake didn't go as planned, so.." I laughed and took a seat.

"What in the world are you doing?" He came closer.

"I prepared something for you, my dear brother" I smiled presenting him the beautiful and amazing pancakes that I made. His face was confused and sat beside me.

"Did you put poison in here?" He said getting a few pancakes. "Tell me, are you still mad?" He asked

"No" I said. "This is a token of gratitude, since you have saved my live in the midst of Max's death plan"

"Hmm. Fair enough." He said as he started eating. It felt so nice to have something prepared for someone and actually eating it. Although, the preparation composed of the pancake mix, water and fire, it's still something. Maybe this is my calling. To cook. Maybe I just need to practice, you know? Maybe in the future, I will be able to feed the whole human race, because by then, everything is cooked for them and being served. Maybe-

"Marie! Did you hear me?" He said.

"Oh! Yeah, of course" I lied.

"What did I say?" He asked

"Uh, you loved the pancakes?" I guessed. He looked at me blank-eyed and then laughed. "I said the bros are going to be here later, so you can leave now if you wanna avoid them"

"What?! No, that can't be. My friends are gonna be here!" I said

"Well that made it much more exciting don't you think?"
