The funny thing about dying is, the second time is much easier. Especially when you just lost the only thing that gave you hope. I knew the risk of what I was doing, and I'll never regret a thing.

I raced through the snow covered hills. Trying to avoid the balls of ice hurtling at me. "You cannot escape me sister. I will bring you down!" My brother yelled in anger. My laughter escaped me as I ran for cover in our mothers garden. He was furious cause I had tackled him and made him eat snow. I saw the back door of our two story home. I raced in not bothering to close the door, seeing as it would make the chances of him catching me greater. I raced through the dainty kitchen and into the sitting room only to run into my fathers back. He turned around to scowl at me and I felt the the breath being knocked out of me as something very hard and cold slammed into my back.
I shrieked from shock as my brother made cries of victory. Father started to rumble and fell onto the chair. "Face full of snow again, son?" He asked in between chuckles. "And then some, but revenge is sweet especially when Angel gets that look upon her face." Jonathan laughed while going to warm by the fire. He looked at me, dropped his jaw, widened his eyes, and started shaking.
"That's the face!" Father bellowed. "I make no such face!" I shrieked appalled. I sat down on the floor near the fire. "I'm worried. Your mother went out to the market a while ago and still hasn't returned." Father got up and went to look out the window as he talked. "It will be pitch dark here in no time soon. I do hope she is alright." He turned to look at my brother and I. His grey eyes showing his distress. Looking at him you could tell where Jonathan got his looks. Both tall in stature, grey eyes, tanned skin from days working hard in the sun, and dark brown hair. The only difference was that fathers hair had started greying from age.
I on the other hand got my dark brown eyes and black hair from my mother. I was just a head taller than her. "If she doesn't return within the hour Jonathan and I will go and look for her. Angel you will stay here and prepare for our return." He said rubbing the scruff on his chin. I nodded and started to gaze into the fire. Father paced looking at the clock on the mantel quite often. Mother never stayed out this long especially when nightfall was such a short time away.
"I'll go put the tea on." I said dismissing myself from the room. I grabbed the tea pot and put it on the stove. I lit it and sat down at the table. I drummed my fingers and watched the flame of the candle flicker. Surely she was alright. It was already dark out but father still had twenty minutes before they head out. Just as I started to worry even more, a loud knock rang throughout the house. Racing out of the kitchen, I made it just in time to see father let in mother and a strange man.
I rushed quickly and embraced her. "I'm sorry that I'm home so late dear. I must have worried you." She said returning my hug and looking at father. "I got lost somehow on the way and ran into this kind man. He happened to know the way and helped me home." She said walking into his arms. I looked up at the man who stood by the door. He was as tall as my father and quite handsome but something about him put me on edge. Maybe it was the intense color of his blue eyes.
"You look as though you've caught your death." I stated. He looked at me. "Pardon?" He asked confused. "Well you're so pale, one would think that you are already dead." I responded. He just continued to stare at me until I looked away. "Why don't you come in Angel had just put on tea and I think we could all use a cup to chase away the chill." Father said beckoning everyone to the sitting room and sending me to fetch the tea. I've got a bad feeling about this man. I gathered the sugar, tea pot and cups on a tray and carried it out. My father and the man were laughing at some sort of joke while my brother leaned against the mantel staring the man down.
