A/N: Before starting this chapter I have a few things to say. First, I'm perfectly aware that Prodigy has left the group. However, I will continue to write my story like he is in the group. Second, sorry I haven't written in so long. This first semester of school was absolute hell. It's over now though and second semester will be much easier which means more writing (hopefully). Monday Morning
Calculus Class
La Reina is already sitting when Trinity walks in and sits next to her.
Trinity: Hey Missy. Where've you been?
La Reina: I just decided to spend the rest of the weekend with my boyfriend. That was some much needed quality time.
Trinity: You mean some much needed sex!
They crack up laughing.
La Reina: The sex was definitely needed too.
They continue laughing and joking until Prod and Ray walk in the classroom and take their seats on either side of the girls.
Ray: Hey...
La Reina: Hello.
Ray: You know we need to talk right?
La Reina: (glares at Ray) I'd rather not. Sorry if I upset your girlfriend, but we need to move on.
Ray: (stares at her)
La Reina: What?
Ray: Nothing... (Turns to face the front of the class)
La Reina: No. You need to tell me why you were staring at me!
Ray: I don't need to do anything!
La Reina: Actually, yes you do! You need to stop getting loud with me!
Ray: I'm pretty sure you're the one who got loud with me first!
Trinity: Hey! Can you both hush your faces? You're drawing unwanted attention.
La Reina and Ray look around the classroom and see a few students staring at them with interest.
La Reina: Way to go Rayon...
Ray: Right back at you La Reina.
Prod: They're ridiculous...
Trinity: I know. They're not even together and yet they're arguing like a fucking married couple...
Prod: (gently grabs Trinity's hand) I know we'd never fight like that if we were married.
Trinity: (takes her hand away and looks away nervously)
Prod: Can I take you out tonight?
Trinity: What?
Prod: Will you go to dinner with me tonight?
Trinity: (smirks) It's a school night.
Prod: (laughs) You still have to eat.
Trinity: That is very true.
Prod: So...?
Trinity: Sure. Where we going?
Prod: Anywhere you want.
Trinity: McDonald's?
Prod: (starts cracking up) Is that what you want?
Trinity: Yeah. I haven't had it in months. It'd be a true treat. (Bats her eyelashes at him)
Prod: Alright. McDonald's it is baby.
Professor Jenkins walks in the class.
PJ: Alright. Hope everyone had a good weekend because the real work begins today. Please open your textbooks to page 23.
2 hours later...
In English Class
Everyone is in there seats. Kia and Jailee are sitting next to each other. Roc and Prince are on either side of them.
Professor Garret has just finished teaching and has dismissed the class.
Roc: I texted Prod and Ray and we decided we're all going to the student rec center to chill before our next class. Y'all wanna come?
Jailee: I do. I'll text Trinity and La Reina so they can join us.
Kia: You guys go ahead. I'll meet you there.
Prince: Alright. Cool.
Kia hangs around her seat until everyone except the teacher has left the classroom. She walks up to his desk.
Kia: Excuse me, Professor Garret?
PG: (looks up from his laptop and smiles) How can I help you Kia?
Kia: I, umm, was having a little trouble grasping the point of the lecture today. The high school version of Shakespeare was really difficult for me, so "college edition" is really stressing me.
PG: It's only the first day of the second week of school. You definitely shouldn't feel stressed yet.
Kia: I know. I just really want to stay on top of things. You know, regarding school and my grades and all.
PG: I understand. (Writes down something on a piece of paper and hands it to Kia) Here, this is my email. Just shoot me a message whenever you have questions.
Kia: (snorts) That'll definitely be frequently. I suck at English.
PG: (smiles sympathetically at her) Well how about you just try your best and if you still can't get a handle on this class, you and I can just work something out.
Kia: (stares at him blankly) Work something out?
PG: Yeah, like tutoring sessions. You can bring your friends you always sit with.
Kia: (thinks for a second before smiling seductively at him) It'll probably just be me. Is that okay?
PG: (his eyes grow wide as he stares at Kia) Umm, y-yeah. Sure. Y-you're fine. I mean, that's! That's fine.
Kia: Okay. I'll be emailing you Professor.
Professor Garret stares at Kia's ass as she walks out of the classroom and once she's gone he mutters under his breath.
PG: What am I getting myself into....?
In The Rec Room
Kia is just now joining everyone.
Ray: Hey! Where've you been?
Kia: I had to talk to my professor about the lecture today.
Jailee's head snaps up and she stares at Kia suspiciously. She knows Kia's attracted to Professor Garret.
Kia: Why are you looking at me like that Jai?
Jailee: Im good with Shakespeare. You know you could just ask me for help.
Kia: I'll keep that in mind.
Jailee: Good.
La Reina: Why are you guys being weird?
Jailee: I'm not. I'm just reminding her that I'm here.
Everyone works on homework for a while.
Prince: Well I have another class in five minutes. I'll see y'all.
Jailee: Ahh shit, I have one too.
Prince: I can walk you.
Jailee: Ummm...okay. Sure.
Prince: Yeah!?
Jailee: Yeah. Now come on before I change my mind.
Trinity: Yeah, the faster you leave the sooner you can have your quickie!!
Jailee flips her off and Prince laughs. They leave and walk to Jai's next class.
Jai: Here we are. Thanks for walking me.
Prince: Anytime Jailee. You know I'd walk you anywhere whenever you need me.
Jai: (Looks at him thoughtfully)
Prince: What's on your mind love?
Jai: Hmm? Oh, nothing. I've gotta go. Thanks again for walking me. (Kisses Prince on his cheek and walks into her next class)
Later That Day (In The Evening)
At The Guys' House
Prod: Hey y'all. I'm about to take Trinity out to dinner. Be back later.
Ray: You going to the girls' place?
Prod: Yeah. I have to pick her up.
Ray: Let me come with you. I need to speak to La Reina.
Prod: I don't know about that man.
Ray: Why not?
Prod: That's just asking for drama.
Ray: Please man. I really need to see her.
Prod: Okay. Okay. Fine. Let's go.
Ray: Thanks Prod.
They leave.
Prince: Hopefully nothing too crazy happens.
Roc: Hopefully...
At The Girls' House
La Reina: Where are you going Trinity?
Trin: Prod is taking me to McDonald's.
Jai: Are you serious?
Trin: Yes. Why?
Jai: He's rich Trinity. Why wouldn't he take you somewhere nice?
Trin: I asked him to take me to McDonald's you guys. Don't make fun of him.
Jai: Ok ok. Sorry. No harm meant.
Doorbell Rings
Kia: I'll answer it. (Opens the door and sees Prodigy and Ray Ray standing behind him) Ohh...they're so not going to like this. (Moves aside to let in the guys)
Prod: Where's everyone at?
Kia: In the living room. I'll show you the way.
They all walk to the living room where the other girls are lounging.
La Reina: What the hell are you doing here Rayon??!!!
Ray: La Reina we need to talk. Now!
La Reina: No we don't!! Prod how could you bring him here?!?
Prod: I'm sorry La Reina. He begged me. I think you two need to resolve some things anyway.
Trin: We're not apart of this. (Gently grabs Prodigy's hand) C'mon, let's go.
Prodigy and Trinity leave.
Jai: There's obviously an argument waiting to happen right now so I'm just going to excuse myself to my bedroom.
Jailee goes to her room.
Kia: Umm yeah, me too. Wait up Jailee!
Kia runs to catch up with Jailee.
La Reina: So what? Now you're stalking me?? Catching rides to my apartment? What the fuck man!?!
Ray: Why did you tell Carmen I hit you?!?
La Reina: Because you did!! What I don't understand is why you didn't tell her!!
Ray: I was planning on telling her when we made one year together!!!! I've only been with her for 8 months La Reina!! My point is that it wasn't your right to tell her that!!!
La Reina: I'm sorry okay!?!? I just wasn't thinking straight.
Ray: Now you're sorry??? You weren't sorry when you were telling me not to call your phone with my bullshit!!
La Reina: You know what Rayon!?! I'm not sorry! I did what I felt I had to do! I wasn't in the mindset of "Jealous Ex-Girlfriend". I was looking out for Carmen, woman to woman. She clearly had no idea why we broke up! She was insecure!! I had to assure her that you and I will never ever ever get back together because I can not be with someone who would put there hands on me, regardless of what I did to them first.
Ray: That's how you really feel?
La Reina: Yes! It is!
Ray: (takes a step toward her)
La Reina: Don't come towards me. (Takes a step back)
Ray: La Reina, I'm sorry. I just...I love Carmen. I don't want to lose her. I didn't want to scare her away.
La Reina: I understand that, but she deserved to know much sooner.
Ray: You're right...
La Reina: Plus, what kind of one year anniversary present is that? "Oh yeah babe, I choked the shit out of my last girlfriend but don't worry I won't do it to you."
Ray: (laughs a little) Yeah..I guess I didn't think about it like that.
La Reina: I'm a woman Ray. Trust me, it was better for her to find out from me. I got your back. I encouraged her to not treat you differently. I told her you were too great of a guy to let go.
Ray: You think that?
La Reina: What?
Ray: That I'm too great of a guy to let go.
La Reina: Yeah I do.
Ray: But you...
La Reina: I know. I let you go.
Ray: La Reina...Are you still in love with me?
La Reina: What!?! Rayon...P-Please leave. N-Now.
Ray: You're stuttering. You're nervous. Why? Do I make you nervous?
La Reina: Leave!
Ray: Not until you answer my question.
La Reina: I have a boyfriend! I love him!!
Ray: There's a big difference between loving someone and being in love with someone. Me? Well, I love Carmen but... I'm in love with you.
La Reina: (covers her ears with her hands) Stop!! I don't want to hear it!
Ray: (sits on the couch and stares at her patiently)
La Reina: Ugh!! (Sits on the floor a few feet away from the couch and looks at Ray)
Ray: I can wait all night love.
La Reina: Okay...Okay...I still have feelings for you...definitely. I would never leave my boyfriend for you though.
Ray: That's understandable. I probably wouldn't leave Carmen for you either. I don't want to hurt her.
La Reina: And I don't want to hurt Kevin.
Ray: So what do we do now?
La Reina: What do you mean? We go on with our normal lives. Obviously...
Ray: What if I don't want to though?
La Reina: Huh?
Ray: What if I want Carmen...and you?
La Reina: Oh...oh no. Not gonna happen. Nope. I will NOT cheat on my man. You can get that stupid thought out of your head right now!
Ray: Just think about it La Reina. (Stands up) I'll call a cab to take me home.
Ray Ray leaves, leaving La Reina sitting on the floor, deep in thought.
