I wake to hear a sharp constant beep. It feels as if a little needle is being plunged into my brain over and over again. Ah, the pain!
Then a masked figure approaches.
It wears all white.
A shiver runs down my spine as the creature places its gloved hand on my arm. I immediately bat the hand away. Then everything goes black. The next time I wake up, I'm in my house.
I attempt to sit up but the pain is too much. I wince and make a groan. "Mum?" I squeak. No reply. Then my big brother comes in. "Hey Teag. You feeling alright?" Tyler says.
"Mum....." I croak. He gives me a strange look. "Why do you keep calling out mum?" Then he pauses and takes a slow deep breath. "Teag.... you know what happened right? You were in an accident."
I have to think about this for a bit.
Accident? What happened...? Why is he acting so weird?
I give him a blank look. "Ty, why am I in so much pain? Where's Mum?"
He takes a huge sigh and sits on the end of the couch. He reaches for my hand and places it in between both of his. He tells me everything.
