*Yawn*

"I'm so tired..." Auntie groans.

I hand her some water and go back to making breakfast.

"What were you expecting? It's 5:30, you need to sleep while you can," I reply.

"Why are you not tiiiiirrreeeedddd..." she moans.

"Because I'm used to it. The helpers didn't know how to cook so I always made food for myself. Eventually they pressured me into making food for everyone. Here you go, Auntie," I say smoothly as I hand her a plate piled high with food.

"Chrono! You gave me your share again!"

"Well, aren't you going to be gone again for a while? You need the energy."

"Well, at least don't call me Auntie. I'm your cousin!"

I smirk and tease, "But you're old enough to be my mom!" as I run out of the room.

"Chrono! That's mean!" she whines.

It's because she's happy lately that I'm not going to tell her that everyone's scared of me. Or that I'm having a hard time eating and sleeping.

She doesn't need to know.

So, I get my things together and pack up for school, and then make my way out of the apartment. I walk down the street, turn a few times, and then the school building is standing in front of me.

It is a big, standard building that isn't much different than your average school.

But as I walk in, somebody starts to whisper about me and the big black eye I have. They seem to think I got into a fight, even though everyone saw when those big guys walked right up to me and punched me in the face.

I only fought back as self defense, I swear!

It's also times like these that I'm glad my cousin can't see me. She works a lot and does a good job, but she is still blind. She went blind in the same accident that killed my mom when I was seven and caused my father to go crazy. Also caused me to be taken away from him two years later when he tried to kill me and some stranger on the street. Said stranger was the one who hit my moms car.

"Now ladies, how do you know what happened? Were you there?"

"No, Shion, we weren't," they reply to the blond guy named Shion.

He has a blonde bob and kind of looks like a girl. He is very popular with girls and is a great fencer, as I hear.

"So, Chrono, how did you get that black eye?" he questions.

"Someone punched me, so I kicked back. And then they punched harder. End of story, now go away," I grumble as I give them my best glare. For some reason, I really hate the blonde kid.

"You came to the card shop yesterday, right?" He asks me.

"Yeah, its a little bit of a hobby. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago."

"A hobby, huh? I try to take it a little more seriously, but okay," he says.

I grumble, "Whatever," and walk away, but he follows me.

"After school today, do you want to meet me in the park?"

"Whatever, it's not like I have plans anyway." I sigh, still walking.

That's when he stops.

I stop and ask, "What?"

He looks at me with wide eyes full of surprise "I didn't think it would be so easy to get you to come."

"Well, thanks," I sneer and stride away.

"Meet me at the park behind the school tonight!" he yells to me, laughing, as I walk away.
