Ch. 2: Ambiguous Love

To sum it up, Riku had passed the exam. He had shown the Mark of Mastery, therefore Yen Sid had dubbed him a true Keyblade Master. Of course Sora was happy to see his best friend receive such an honor.  Before it all ended, however, they had a little time to react to to Lea and his new Keyblade... It was a surprise to Riku and Sora... and everyone else. Moving matters, Sora explains that he had some business to finish. Riku knew Sora would've taken longer than he needed whenever he stayed over places, so he asked a question. "Sora I need to talk to you about something, it's really important so come back soon. We can stay the night at the tower and we'll have the conversation there." requested Riku. Riku wasn't exactly sure why he said that, but he didn't want to take the words back. Sora turned back to Riku. He faced Yen Sid right after and asked, "Can we stay here a night?" Delivering the answer, Yen Sid nodded. Sora continued, "Then we can talk in the room, I think we might have to stay in the highest room though. Since it's the only guest room. And we might have to share a bed or not... I'm not sure, so we'll talk about it when I get back I won't take long!" He then turned around and cheerfully unlocked the sleeping keyhole and went through.

Sora opened the Sleeping Keyhole and ventured through alone. He realized he had unfinished business, in which he left. And when he woke up in Traverse Town, he looked around for...

'Why did I do that? No, rather why did I say that?  After all those questions I don't think I've been myself.' In the beginning, Riku had no intention of inviting Sora for a "talk". Honestly, he didn't even think. Riku just... asked. And though he didn't intend for this to happen, he wasn't really regretting it. Riku just had one question. '..The thought of just us talking, why does it make me feel.. so... eager?' Finally, all thoughts were paused when the sound of something clanging echoed throughout the room.'Sora's back, and he probably made something fall. He's still as clumsy as ever.'  Thought Riku. Making an educated guess, he started to eye the door. And like he predicted, Sora came in sprinting.

"What's the rush?" asked Riku. Next to Riku, Sora plopped onto the bed and laid back.

"Well," Sora continued. "I didn't want to take long. So how'd I do?."

Riku smirked.

"Hm, I'd give you a 'C'."

"Huh? Why a 'C'? I think I deserve a 'B' if anything!" Sora blurted.

"Oh? Are you questioning the judge?"

"Anyways..! You said you had something to talk about. It was important?"

"Right"

Afterword, Riku laid back with Sora and began to look at the ceiling. And Riku commenced his deep thoughts. He didn't know what to talk about since this was technically an accident. Though Riku paused his thoughts to the sound of a thumping of a sort. Eventually common sense strikes him and he realizes that this is the sound of his beating heart. 'It's beating fast... but why? I felt like this earlier, but... why? I want to know.'  Riku began to express a frown. Looking over, Sora catches a look of this and strikes the question. "Are you okay?" Those words immediately struck him. With that Riku's eyes widened. 'I understand... with the questions, and my reactions...'

Riku smiled and glanced over at Sora while he simply stared speechless in uncertainty. Riku replied, "Yeah, I'm fine and sorry I was quiet. I was trying to remember what I wanted to talk about. And I do." Sora smiled broadly. "That's good. I thought we were just gonna end up relaxing on the bed all day, and I had no problem with that!" Sora then chuckled. Wanting to continue the conversation, Riku spoke. "Back on track, I wanted to say that I've been feeling different for quite a bit without really noticing. And it involves you heavily... Actually, you are the reason I think..." Sora asked, "What do you mean?" Riku sat up while Sora stayed in his sleeping position.* Riku gazed out the window. Upon the darkening sky there wasn't a single cloud found. All that appeared was a moon during its First Quarter. The view was alluring. "I thought I saw you as my friend, but that's not exactly... right." Sora became worried. Those words led him to believe that Riku did not care for him. That he never did. And that their friendship was a utter lie. Obviously he was overthinking, but Sora was drowning in these thoughts. They were hurting him. "Riku, does that mean yo--" Riku interrupted, "Before you go off assuming the worst, let me finish." He declared.

Suddenly, the thoughts disappeared, leaving blank mind ready to listen. "Alright... sorry." Afterwards Riku began to explain. "Okay so.. um..." Riku started. "I've been thinking of our relationship, and we did have a friendship but now.... I feel differently..." Quietly Sora asked, "What do you feel?" Then Riku muttered, "Just so you understand..." At that moment Riku turned around a slowly hovered above Sora. He was very confused. "Riku what are you..?" "Listen well and understand..." Riku blurted. "I'm feeling this certain emotion because of you. Putting it in a simpler way, I'm saying that I have feelings for you. Feelings that surpass friendship." He didn't know what to say. In fact, he didn't say anything. Sora simply stayed still the whole time. Though mind beckoned him to ask, 'Are you telling me the truth?' Though Sora didn't need to since 'Riku has his stone cold face on. Leaving Sora in silence, he dipped his head down. Riku closed his eyes and gently brushed his lips against Sora's, giving him a passionate kiss...

(This....also killed... me... UGH.)
Oh no! Did I just leave you at a cliffhanger??? Well I think... I did, I'm not sure. But don't worry I'm working on the next part, so wait for that! I know this chapter was probably longer than the rest, but I think you guys deserved some more content including Sora. Anyways I have to go! I have to get writing!
