Audrey Stone,
Under the pillow of her soft bed,
101 South Shore Road

My dear lovable Audrey,

We haven't spoken properly and it's killing me. I want to give you your dream myself.

Open your door. I'm outside your house.

Bear hugs and kisses for a good night,
Will.

Audrey's heart was beating fast and loud as she read Will's latest letter. Was he really outside her house? But it was raining. Heart in her mouth, she walked over to her bedroom window and drawing the curtains aside, peaked out.

Will was standing there, wet as the rain fell on his shoulders. He saw her and raised a hand in acknowledgement.

Audrey ran down to the door, hastily pulling it open, her hands fumbling on the latch. Damn it, she thought as she finally threw the door open.

"What the hell are you doing, Will?" She asked. "How long have you been standing in the rain?"

He smiled at her, like she was his salvation. Now that she was standing there, everything was going to be okay. "Just been here a couple of hours." He replied.

"Will-" her voice sounded broken.

"Audrey," he interrupted her before he lost his nerve and didn't do what he came here to do. "I want to share my dream with you. And this dream of mine is very special because I've had it almost every night."

She kept quiet.

"You were the prettiest seven year old girl I had ever laid my eyes upon. You were the most loyal friend I could have ever asked for." He paused, gathering his thoughts.

"I dream that you fall in love with me, the same way that I have fallen for you. It's cliché and impossible, but I have always loved you, best friend. Stacey was just an excuse, an excuse to try and get you out of my head. I broke up with her, because no girl can ever be compared to you. I love you Audrey, and I want you to be my girl."

A tear glistened down her cheek. "But I thought-"

"It's always been you." He said. "When you started going out with Daniel, I was so damn jealous. Please say you choose me over him, Audrey, please."

"I broke up with him today," Audrey told Will. She took in a deep breath. "I'm in love with you too."

He kissed her then. He kissed her for all the love and patience she had shown him. He kissed her like he had dreamed of, for so many years. He kissed her like she was his everything.

She tasted the raindrop on his lips, she felt the love in his veins and saw the sparks on her skin where he touched her.

He kissed her till his lips felt numb. When they broke apart, he put his forehead on hers and whispered,

"Tell me this isn't a dream."

She smiled at him, completely lost in the perfect moment. "It is. We're just dreaming out loud."
