"Goddamn, seriously?? How can Ash Mam choose Aisha for this? You were deserving bro!", Maddy sounded cross and helpless.

I told you, no matter what the conditions were, Maddy was always going to be happy for Aryan.

"Nope dude, she spoke amazingly and afterall it's matter of who speaks well. If she is better, I ought to accept!", I still sounded morose somewhat.

"Aryan, will you come here a minute?", Ash Mam called from distance in the corridor, while it was the break time.

"Yes mam, any help?", I asked.

"Well, you are being called by Raghavan Sir in his cabin along with Aisha."

"Okay, I will call her."

Aryan called Aisha from the class and they both started walking towards the cabin, which was in the same corridor after four-five classes of 10th A. Aryan still wasn't matching eyes with Aisha, as he was disappointed.

"What's the matter Aryan? You not talking to me since yesterday?"

"No, nothing, I am fine."

"But Maddy told me that you were disappointed at not being selected in the speech. It's cool dude, next time maybe."

"Now, it has become everytime for me Aisha. And ofcourse it hurts when someone else gets the chance.", I said in a taunting manner.

They reached the cabin and knocked at the door. Sir called them inside.
Raghavan Sir - A very amiable man in his mid-fifties nearly, was a cricket coach earlier, then became the director, had a genial yet strict attitude against students. From past two-three years, Aryan was in the "Council" headed by Sir, and Aryan was always called in his cabin to point out his mistakes, but was never appreciated. But Aryan didn't feel bad, he just nicknamed Raghavan Sir as "Bald headed Bitch" !

"Aryan, nice to see you after a long time lad! You've grown tall boy!", said Raghavan Sir cheerfully.

"And you, Aisha Kaul. Nice to meet you girl. Heard about your speech skills a lot from Ashini Mam. She was very happy at you joining our school. I hope you deliver a great performance on Independence Day."

" Thank you so much Sir, I will not let you down.", Aisha sounded heavenly at Sir's words. Aryan's face fell.

"Well, Aryan, I have a work for you too. You are going to be the organiser of all the events on 15th August. Looking after the flag, seating arrangements of students, teachers, chief guests, and also the sound systems. Is that okay?"

Aryan stared round eyed at Sir and then spoke gently, "Yes, Sir I would love to do atleast something"

"Very well lad, proud of you. Good luck to you both."

*15th August Day*
Aryan was running from end of this corridor to that corridor and searching for cards for chief guests, bouquets for guests, getting the sequences of program and showing it to the choir group and the speakers o their roles. And at last when these were done, he called Aisha aside and wished her good luck. Though he was not selected, but he wanted her to rock! Though he was just given a short role, he wanted to do it faithfully.

And yes, the program was superb. From the flag hoisting ceremony to felicitating the guests to the songs and dances and speeches, it went well.

But the most wonderful was the speech by Aisha, clad in a red and a black dress, she spoke with such a grace, Aryan couldn't help but stare dumbly at her... She was looking gorgeous today. And the speech, well it was 8 times better than the speech in class. Aryan was happy to see her excel. Maybe he had fallen for her, the little things she did, but whatever she did, made Aryan whirl and sway like a dreamer. He was living a dream, or was it true.... Maybe he would soon fall for her. But they hadn't still been friends yet! There was time for all these to come!

*After 3 days.. 18th August*

"I was called by Raghavan Sir yesterday, and was mad at my speech. He appreciated a lot. He said there was no speaker till today in any of the batches of New Era Bright School (NEBS)", said Aisha at the breakfast time where Aryan and Aisha were together eating.

"Whaaaaat? Wtf! He is such an ass. Bald headed bitch. I managed the program in the best manner I could, and he did not even said me a 'well done'??", Aryan sounded totally cross.

"Aryan, look, its not that always we have to search for appreciation. If we in ourselves are totally satisfied, we dont need any third person to appreciate. We know ourselves we have done a great  job. And I know you have done everything superbly. I AM PROUD OF YOU."

But still Aryan looked morose, and did not reply anything!

"See you in the class. Come soon"

At this moment, Aisha turned to leave the dining hall, tossed her hair back and moved swiftly towards the class. Her cologne spread through Aryan's mind and made him, go round. Aryan considered him the most luckiest person, for he met a girl such as Aisha.
