Chapter 4

Lachlan's POV

I went with Preston outside so he didn't do anything he regretted.

He looked like he was ready to cry a waterfall but ready to punch a wall at the same time.

While we were walking in silence, I saw a familiar, ginger girl sitting at the edge of the sidewalk.

I stopped infront of her and grabbed Preston's arm so he'd stop walking.

"What the fudge do you want?!" He said, angrily. I motioned my head towards the girl and he looked over, his gaze softening.

I walked over to her pulling him along with me.

"Danielle!" I shouted, remembering her name. How could I not remember her? She was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen...

Her head snapped up to look at us, her ocean blue eyes staring at the two of us in shock.

"Is Preston crying because Sara and Mitch?" She asked.

Me and Preston both gaped at her, "How did you know?" Preston asked, his voice cracking.

"I was friends with Sara and Mitch in high-school and they both helped my boyfriend to cheat on me... They also announced how in 'love' they were and Sara promised to cheat on other people with Mitch. They were the players of the school... They were assholes. When I found out Preston and Sara were dating, I called her up straight away but obviously she wouldn't listen because of the names I called her..." She hugged Preston, comforting him.

I felt my heart pang in my chest. Am I jealous?...

Danielle's POV

I hugged Preston, comforting him.

I looked at Lachlan and saw he looked... Jealous?

'Why would he be jealous? Is Leston real? There's no way he'd like me... I'm ugly and way to skinny from being starved...' My mind continued to rant on.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when Preston's sobs quietened. He released me from the hug, "Thank you..."

I nodded in response, "No problem, anything to repay you guys for helping me through my depression" I smiled. They smiled back.

"Why are you here in Australia, then?"

I told them everything since I last saw them, which was two years ago, to yesterday when I ran away.

Lachlan whispered something to Preston and Preston nodded.

"Danielle, would you like it if you moved in with us?" The Aussie asked...
