Chapter 7

"Is it okay if Robbie stays over for a while?..."

"We don't really have any room..." Mitch pointed out, rather firmly, which made me flinch.

"Well... If we had room, we'd let him stay but we just simply don't." Preston added in a softer tone after elbowing Mitch.

"Well... I could stay with him at a hotel?..." I really didn't want to come here and intrude. They'd have to pay more rent and Lachlan has to give up his bed so that I could be comfortable....

I'd rather stay at a hotel with Robbie...

"Would you be okay doing that? I mea-"

"Yes! Uhm.... It wasn't meant to come out like that, but... Uh. I just don't want you guys to have to go out of the way for me."

They looked at me curiously before I quietly added on, "And Robbie kind of already brought tickets here without me telling him there was probably no space left in this house..."

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!" Mitch screamed, me flinching again.

I ignored him and put on my leather jacket and shoes.

"Where are you going?" Preston asked me, sweetly.

"For a walk. I feel a bit claustrophobic." I partially lied. It was true that I felt claustrophobic but Mitch was also scaring me...

"Okay. Be back soon!" He called after me as I walked out of the door and down the sidewalk. He sure recovered from that breakup well...

"Sure! See you!" I called back over my shoulder, then facing forward.

*The Next Day*

I woke up in an alleyway, my phone's ringtone bouncing off of the narrow walls.

I picked up the phone

D- hello?
R-Danielle! I'm at the airport!!
D- I can't really get you..

It sounded like he went inside somewhere and there was a 'click' noise.

R- Where are you?
D- RoseMary Grove, small alleyway next to the bakers. Why?
R- Because, I'm coming to get you...
D- Oh, right, sorry. I guess I'll wait for you outside the front of the bakery.
R- Sure! See you then!
D- Okay. See you!

I ended the phone call and sighed before stepping out of the alleyway, squinting at the bright sun and stood in front of the bakery.

A while later, a black cab stops in front of me and the window rolls down to reveal my best mate, Robbie Kay.

"Well, what are you waiting for?! Hop in!" He was always so happy and my heart always jumped when he would touch me or smile at me.

I smiled widely as he got out of the car and opened the door, sitting down and saying a 'Thank You'.

"So, how have you been, Danie-"

He was cut off as the car started tumbling over and everything went black...
