"You act like you bout to see Alex from Target" I exclaimed to my friend Peyton.
"And you dressing like your trying to impress Reshawn from the ghetto" She yelled back.
I couldn't do anything but laugh at how serious she sounded. My mom was at her church group meeting and we were left to fend for ourselves until 11 o'clock which gave us 6 hours to watch R rated movies and eat whatever we wanted. The only problem with that is.... we don't have anything remotely fatting in the house besides white bread so me being the problem solver that I am decided that we were going to go to Harris Teeter to buy a bunch of candy and pizza.
I didn't realize that meant that she had to get ready for prom because that's exactly how long she is taking to get ready. All I did was hop in the shower and get dressed up in some Tommy Hilfiger rain boots, black jeggings, and a country button up shirt. This took me about 15 minutes......It has been an hour. So now we have less than 5 hours to have fun. She finally gets her makeup on and she is looking flawless while I look super flawful and shiny due to my moisturizer . Anyways we hop in the car and turn on the tunes and jam all the way to Harris Teeter which is about 45 minutes away.
It's about 7 o'clock when we get there and we are rushing super fast. She goes to the bakery section to get the pizza and I run to the candy aisle to get the candy obviously. I'm grabbing gummy worms, sour gummy worms, Mr.Goodbars, Snickers.... basically all of our favorites until I realized I'm missing my favorite drink which is a Mango Snapple and her favorite which is a Mango Arizona. So I run to the drink isle searching all of the rows because normally her drink is in the middle right beside the chips but oooooohhh NOOO... NOT TODAY. It's at the very top....The extreme top like it's pushed to the back and the only reason I saw it was because I was standing far away from the shelves. So I place down my basket and try to reach for it and started to pout after about 5 minutes of struggling. Me being 5'2 meant that I couldn't reach and being 187 pounds meant I couldn't stand on the shelf so I had to just keep trying with my shirt rising up a bit and all until I heard somebody clear their throat and chuckle.
This guy not too much taller than me, probably about 5'10 or '11, dark brown eyes, close cut, thick navy blue jogging pants that was hanging off of his hips, crisp white tee, and black and white sneakers that think are Jordan's. He walks towards me shaking his head smiling as he reaches above my head to grab the Arizona. "Here ya go shortie." he says as he places the drink in my hand showing off his big pearly whites. "Thank you" I simply said warmly as I turned to get my snapple in a different section because I doubted he would try to make conversation with me because they never did. And like always, I was right again and that saddened me once again. It's not like I wanted to be right in these types of situations. I quickly grabbed my other drink, checked out, met up with Peyton and walked to the car where I saw him. He was parked 2 cars over and we had to pass him and of course he looked at Peyton first so I already know where this was headed.
"Hello Darius" She said
"Well look at me little Preppy " he said happily which made her giggle
"I never got your name in there" he said as he turned to me
"Dymon" I said trying to look everywhere but at him.
"Well nice to meet you again Dymon"
"Likewise"
"Ask for her number already" Peyton yelled out
Oh god I thought
"I would but ya know....Somebody won't catch the hint to ya know.....dip" He said chuckling and with that she left
"So umm...Can I call you sometime" he asked looking into my eyes with so much confidence but much more nervousness like he thought I was going to reject him......which I didn't. He's is hot you know, that means he can get my number anytime he would like lol.
