The lights of an oncoming car, the sound of brakes screeching, glass shattering, flying, nothing. My world is dark, but it has sound. My body is made of stone but I can feel it. I can feel it wasting away in this hospital bed. I didn't hear you when you came in, you've always walked so quietly. "Hey." You said and that's how I knew you were there.
You were quiet for a long time after that, so long that I had thought you had left, but then you began to talk again. You told me how sorry you were and asked for my forgiveness. Forgiveness? Why were you asking for my forgiveness? As far as you could tell I was a living corpse......
That's what the doctors told my parents when they came in. Well they didn't use those exact words, but they said they weren't sure how much brain activity I had at the moment, or if I would even ever wake up again, so yeah a living corpse.
You said some really nice things to me like how I was beautiful and the most amazing girl in the world. Really because I thought I was annoying and had a ten foot pole up my ass. That's what you said to me when I wanted to call my mom to have her come pick me up, because you were drunk and I didn't even have my permit yet. But you said that me and made me feel less like a person and more like some dog that must obey her masters every wish or be kicked. So I got in the car with you, and now I'm lying in this hospital bed praying that someone will pull my plug and put me out of my misery. Forgiveness!? I will never forgive you. Wait... if you have a grudge or unfinished business don't you become a ghost? Oh god I don't want to spend the rest of eternity haunting some jackass. I forgive you only because I'm a living corpse who will hopefully stop breathing soon.
