Mom and dad have been home for about a week now and everyday it's the same thing. They are constantly on me about how I feel and so on. "Nathan, Alyssa, are you two staying to eat? You know you are more than welcome to" mom said. "I will," Nate said. "Yeah, I will too. I'll let my mom know not to wait up" lyssa said. "Alyssa and I will be out back" I said. Mom nodded.

"This was very good, thank you mama wilk" Alyssa and Nate said. "Thank you, you're welcome" she smiled. Mom likes when Sam and I have friends over. "Atleast it's Friday, right?" Dad said. "Yeah. Can Alyssa stay over?" I asked. "I don't mind, as long as her mom knows sure. Nates staying as well" she said. Of course he is. We went up to my room and just talked for the rest of the night. "You figure out those notes yet?" She asked me. I shook my head, "I asked Nate thinking it was him but he insisted it wasn't" I said. She nodded. "I have a feeling my parents are going out of town again. Like usual." I said. "And if they do, Sam's gonna have a party" I said. "Parties are fun though" Alyssa smiled. "No, they suck because Sam always expects me to clean up the day after with sweaty hungover people lying everywhere" I said. She laughed, "The joy of being the youngest child huh?" I laughed too. It was now 3am and both of us were slowly falling asleep. "I'm going to bed. I'll see you in the morning" I yawned, rolling over in my bed.

"I say we pour this bucket of water on em, what do you think?" I heard Nates voice to Sam in my room. "Shed kill us dude." Sam said. "Yeah, I would. Now get out of my room! Weirdos, watching two sixteen year olds sleep" I groaned pulling my blankets up. They both took of out of my room and I turned my tv on. "Morning," Alyssa yawned. I smiled, "Morning Lyss" I said. "Ash, Lyss! Get dressed we're going to breakfast" Sam said. "Who is?!" I yelled. "Nate, you two and me. Now quit arguing" he said back. I looked over at Alyssa who was still laying down, "I guess we have no choice now" I said. "You can pick out what you wanna wear. You know where everything is." I said, getting dressed in some grey leggings and a black tshirt. I sat outside my door, "What are you doing?" Nate asked looking at me. "Sitting here while my friend changes, problem?" I said. "Wow, crabby pants is on the loose" he said chuckling. "But on a more serious note, aren't girls like the ones that don't care about changing in front of eachother?" He said. "Why does it matter?" I said glaring at him. "Okay I'll shutup I'm sorry." He said. Alyssa came out, basically wearing the same thing I was. "Wow you guys are kinda creepy" Nate and Sam joked. "Will you two shutup we don't even want to go!" I said. "You are really crabby today. Do you feel alright?"  Sam said. "That's it. I'm staying. You all go." I said leaning against the wall. "Nate, grab her" Alyssa said. I looked at her in disbelief, watching as Nate came and scooped me up. "I hate you," i said to Nate. "Love you too youngin" he smirked taking me out to Sam's car, putting me in the backseat. I pouted, crossing my arms over my chest. "Be happy, life too short to be upset." Nate smile sitting up front.

Skip the weekend//Monday

"Goodmorning class, how was everyone's weekend?" Mrs. Tanner asked. Nobody answered. "Wonderful, let's begin!" She clapped. I sighed leaning down to get my notebook, suddenly getting that sick feeling I knew too well. "Mrs. Tanner can I please go to the nurse?" I asked starting to panic. "Ashlynn class just begun. Wait until period," she said continuing to teach. "No! You're gonna let her go!" Nate yelled standing up, grabbing my bag. "Give me a detention or something but I'm taking her to the nurse" Nate said. "Can you get up?" He whispered. I shook my head about ready to cry. "Hold on," he said. He put his backpack on, followed by mine. He bent down and picked me up. "Nate you don't have to do this," I whispered. "Yes, I do." He said. "Maloley, Wilkinson you two get back in here!" Mrs. Tanner yelled. "I'll see you two in detention Wednesday morning!" She yelled again. The security guard in that hallways looked at us oddly. "Is there a problem?" He asked. I nodded. "Nate just tell him I don't care. I want to go home" I cried. "Ash here is my best friends sister who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and she only has months maybe weeks to live and she was just denied when asking if she could go to the nurse because she began to feel weak and sick. So, being a friend I stood up and took her out and ended up getting us two detentions" Nate said. The guard looked shocked. "I'm so sorry. Here, I'll walk both of you to the nurse and I'll talk," he said stopping, "Mrs Tanner," Nate said. "Right, I'll talk Mrs. Tanner out of those detentions. What're your names again?" He said. "Nathan Maloley and Ashlynn Wilkinson" Nate said. "Thank you," I weakly smiled. We reached the nurses office and she looked up at the three of us, "Please get her in soon, she's in need of it" the security guard said. She nodded. Nate thanked him as he left. She pulled Nate off to the side, "Ashlynn, are you okay?" I knew what I wanted to say, I just couldn't open my mouth to say it, then everything was black.

"Mama? Sammy? Where am I?" I cried. "You're in the hospital sis," Sam said. "Mom and dad left on business again while we were gone and can't come back for a while," he said. "Thank god nate is in your class and saw how weak you were getting and took you to the nurse" he sighed. "Nate. Where's Nate?" I said. "At home. He'll be here later when I have to leave for work. We're taking turns with you here." He told me. "I need to thank him," I said. "He will be here around 4" he said. "Are you hungry or anything?" Sam asked. "No, just really tired and sore" I sighed. "Get some rest. I'll be right here," he said kissing my forehead. I pulled my blanket up and shut my eyes, falling asleep.
"I think she's waking up now, let me ask her some questions first sir" I heard a women's voice say. I rubbed my eyes and looked around. "Okay you are up! That's great. Now I'm going to ask a few questions to see about your memory. What is your full name?" She asked. "Ashlynn Maria Wilkinson," I said. "Great. How old are you?" She said. "Sixteen," I said. "And lastly, your birthday please."she said looking at me.  "May 17th, 1998." I said. "Wonderful. I'll bring in some food and water for you, meanwhile a visitor is here for you." I nodded and saw her step out. I looked around and I spotted Nate by the doors. "Thank you," I said. "For what?" He asked. "Are you kidding me? You basically saved my fucking life," I laughed. "Language, you're only sixteen! But seriously?  You don't need to thank me. You're my bestfriends little sister" he said. I nodded. "I brought your backpack with everything from your locker" he told me, pointing to the chair. "Thank you," I smiled. "Quit saying thank you! I love you too much to see you hurting" he saying. "Love you too. Can I have my bag please?" I said. He brought it over, "I'm gonna go get some food. I'll be back" he said.

Nates POV

I gave Ash her backpack and I'm said I was going to get food. The real reason I was leaving was because I dropped a note on her books again. I think she'll know it's me by the end of today. If not, I don't know how much more obvious I can get with it.

Ash's POV

I pulled out my chemistry book squinted as another note fell out. Great.

I wish I could help more than I already am. Seeing you so weak and almost getting detention was rough on us both. Please wake up soon, I need to know you're going to be okay. It hurts emotionally. I'm sorry.

"Oh my god," I said out loud. "Nathan Montgomery Maloley likes me?!" I mumbled. He can't! I'm dying...
