I stared intently at the ground, very frustrated. I sighed, and looked up at John who stared impatiently at me, wondering what it was I was looking at. I shrugged, and threw it down, standing up finally.
"What is it?! What is it?!" John had exclaimed like a child. Really? Well.. At least he wasn't close to me, or anything. Now I see why I don't really have friends other than my dog... Well that and everyone in the school thinks I am so weird.. Apparently I'm not the only one.. John seems to be very odd and mistreated at school too. What is it about him though?
"It's nothing, John..." I sighed, looking blankly at him. "All it is, is only... A rock.." I said covering the dirt back over the hole with my foot. We turned and started walking to a new spot. Apparently it was not a glow, but only the sun shinning upon that spot.. How could I be so stupid to think it was the actual glow... I had always been told to find what was in your heart, and it will guide you to the box.. What was up with that? Was this some magically crap or something? If only magic was real.
"Hey snap out of it!" He said snapping in front of my face. I grabbed his arm quickly, slinging him to the ground, then I covered my mouth. I didn't mean to react like that, guess I got so deep in thought it was my only reaction.
"Wow.. Look at you, got some strength on you dontcha?" He smirked, giving a wink. I rolled my eyes as I held out my hand to help him up. He accepted and got really close to me, I started stepping back, but he stayed close distance. My eyes widened once I hit my back against a tree. I stared up into his deep mysterious brown eyes. They gleamed just right in the sun light. "You're so cute." He said with a smirk, and started walking back from where we came. "Come now love, we must get going before it gets too late." He glanced back with a smirk after speaking. My whole face was blood red I'm sure, and I snapped back to my thoughts. I ran to catch up to him, walking side by side in dark silence. Even though most consider silence as darkness, I considered it friendly. It let my thoughts be at peace with no one intruding, finally at rest, and serenity.
"So how come you wanted to come with me?" I questioned, looking back up at him. He kept his forward stare, before finally speaking.
"Some things are better left unknown." He spoke with a darkness resting in his voice.. But.. Why? Goodness.. What the heck is up with this guy?!
"Okay.." I mumbled, a little upset by his response. I felt more so like there was something more important up with things. Was it truly destiny?
That very next day I went to school, only to find he was gone.. Did I dream all of it? Why am I concerned.. It's none of my business... I went on through the day as usual before him. Many looked at me however, glaring, and talking. Not anything new except for the glaring part... Why was I getting all this attention? So negative.. I am a freak.. I talk to myself.. Weeks went by and John Cullen was completely gone.. No trace of him anywhere.. I know he made it home safely, he did text me telling me he did.. I sighed and seemed to get gloomy.. Well more so than usual.. I had stopped checking for the box and rather looking for him. I couldn't help but wonder as to why I had such a connection to a boy I only met once. Sure we hung out, but it was only once. What is it?
