I couldn't stop looking at him. His brown eyes was locked into mine. "Okay students, take a seat," mr. Williams said, and our eye contact got disconnected. I took the seat on the boy's left side where Jackson was sitting right before I told him to take a other seat. Zoe took the seat on the boy's right side. "Okay, look up at page 78 in your history book, please" I opened my book and looked at page 78. "Oh yeah, and we have a new student, he's sitting in the back of the class right beside Alissa and Zoe," the whole class looked back at us, I just smiled and looked at the boy. "His name is Ashton and he just moved from Australia to America, Ashton can you tell us something about yourself?" Okay, so the boy's name was Ashton, what a sweet name. Ashton looked nervous, but stood up anyway. "Hi, my name is Ashton, uhh I'm 18 years old.." He stopped. "Okay that's enough, thank you Ashton" Ashton sat down again and looked straight down at his desk. "Hey, you can borrow my book" I said and gave him my history book. He looked up from his desk and straight into my eyes. "Tha...Thank you.." He said and took the book, I just smiled and looked up.

The history lesson was going pretty well. "Here's your book, thanks for lending" Ashton said and laid my book on my desk. "You're welcome" I said and smiled to him. I took my book and walked after Zoe out of the class.

"Hey girls, how was your class?" We just came a few meters down the hallway until someone talked to us from behind. I turned around to see who it was. It was Scarlett. "It was going pretty well, what about yours?" Zoe said with a big smile on her face. "Mine was going well too, a little bit boring, but it's always boring" Scarlett answered and smiled back. "Should we go and get some lunch now?" I asked and began to walk towards the canteen.

"something wrong Alissa?" Zoe said and looked at me. There was nothing wrong, I was just hungry and couldn't stop thinking about that boy named Ashton.

"No there's nothing wrong, I'm just hungry" I said with a smile and kept walking.

Zoe and Scarlett looked at each other with a weird look in their eyes. They said nothing, but I could feel that they knew that I wasn't just hungry.

We finally came to the canteen. There was a lot of noise. Everyone was sitting in cliques. There was the  Asian ones, the "too cool for school" ones, the hippies, the athletes, the bang buddies and the popular ones. Well I don't want to mention all the cliques, I think you all know them.

We took a tray each and got some food from the canteen lady. There was lasagna today, not my favourite, but I had to eat it if I wanted some food today. I took a bottle of water and a green apple too.

we took our trays and walked over to that we called "The Populars Island" It was a spot who was a little bit higher than the normal floor was. We had our own table Scarlett, Zoe and I.

"Omg I love lasagna" Zoe said and took a deep breath. "Oh so if you love lasagna, maybe you would eat mine too?" I said and gave Zoe my lasagna. "YES GIVE ME THAT" she took the lasagna and began to eat like a wild animal. I took a bite of my green apple and ate it peacefully. "Oh Scarlett, have you heard about this new boy?" Zoe said with her mouth full of lasagna. The lasagna was going to every direction. I laid my apple down and drank some water.

"No I haven't" Scarlett said while she was cutting off a piece of her lasagna. Zoe took another big bite of her lasagna and chew it so we could see all her food being blended in her mouth.

"Well, he just started here today, he's moved all the way from Australia to America, his name is Ashton, he's wearing glasses and he's a nerd" Zoe said and swallowed her food. She called him a nerd, she knows I hate when they say that. "Nerds" are also human beings, they are normal humans. Yes some of them a very clever about a special thing, but don't judge them for that, because I think it's cool to like a thing so much that they know almost everything about it.

"Zoe! Don't call him a nerd! You know I hate when you say that!" I said with a little bit of anger in my voice. I looked at her very seriously. "Sorry Alissa, I forgot, but what can we call the less popular?" She asked. I kept my serious look.

"Just call them "less popular" that sounds nicer," I said and looked down at the table. I could feel Scarlett was looking at me. I pretended not to notice, and kept staring at the table.

"Should we hang out after school?" I looked up at Scarlett and nodded. "Okay, can we go to the mall? I really need a new pair of jeans.." Zoe said and continued eating her lasagna.
