Chapter Seventeen

First Day

Lyric POV:
My mama woke me up talking about some school . I want to go to school but they might not like me . but oh well . I pulled out my red shirt that said street flava with my light blue jeans shorts with my white chucks . I flat iron my hair and grabbed my phone and purse .

Mama: Lyric you cute .

Me: thanks mama where Pey ?

Pey: coming .

Mama: Que we gone I'll come get Kaden afterwards .

We walked out of the hotel room and got in the car . first we drove to Pey school then my school I guess . it was called woodland hills . We found a parking spot and my mama let me out .

Mama: here lyric , she said handing me a $50 .

Me: okay mama love you .

Mama: love you too and you going over Chass or you want me to pick you up ?

Me: I'm going over auntie Chass , I said walking up the stairs .

I grabbed my phone out my purse and went inside to the office .

Me: hi I'm new here I was coming to pick up my schedule .

Mrs.Hinton: name ?

Me: Lyrikkal Jackson .

Mrs.Hinton: oh got you right here , she said handing me my schedule .

Me: thanks .

I walked out of the office and down the hall . Then I walked past this brown skin girl .

Me: hey um excuse me ?

??: yes ?

Me: hey im Lyric I'm new here .

Destyn: I'm destyn .

Me: pretty name I was seeing do you know where this class is ?

I handed her my schedule . I guess she read the whole thing .

Destyn: its your lucky day we have all of the same classes .

Me: that's dope .

We walked down the hall to Science first I guess . Destyn sat by the door so I sat beside her .

Destyn: this her second day here so get on the good side .

Me: lol okay , I chuckled .

Then everyone started walking in . a boy with dreads and a couple more people .

Mrs.Mandel: good morning class we have a new student today . come up Lyrikkal .

I grabbed my purse and phone and walked to the front of the class .

Mrs.Mandel: Lyrikkal tell us about yourself .

Me: okay my nickname is Lyric . I stayed in Atlanta once but I moved to Cali back to Atlanta and I'm 14 .

Mrs.Landel: good any questions for Lyric ?

Then Destyn raised her hand to be funny .

Mrs.Landel: yes Destyn ?

Destyn: is that your real hair ?

Mrs.Landel: I couldn't help but ask either .

Me: lol yes it .

??: no its not .

I really didn't have time for haters so I took my seat .

Destyn: she talks about everyone .

Me: I see but I'm not worried .

The day went by pretty fast . it was lunch time . and when I tell you a real girl was hungry . I grabbed me a slice of sasuages pizza with some ruffles and a ice cream sundae . I was looking for a lunch table then destyn called my name .

Destyn: Lyric !

I walked to where she was sitting and sat down .

Me: hey .

Destyn: Lyric this Jailyn, Trinity , and Claire .

Me: hey .

Jailyn: wassup girl .

Trinity: don't mind her she ghetto with a classy mind .

Me: lol I'm the same .

Then the boys who were in class walked over .

Me: who they ?

Destyn: that's Brandon , Deedee , Shadd , Kingston .

Me: oh .

Shade: wassup y'all .

Deedee: hey everybody .

Brandon: sauce up .

Kingston: beat a bitch up yup !

I just laughed . They funny asf . then my mama called .

Phone Convo:

Me: hello mama .

Mama: Chass said you can come over there after school .

Me: okay .

Mama: pey gon there too I'm dropping Kaden off over mama house .

Me: alright love ya .

Mama: love you too . 💓

Phone Convo Ended.

Destyn: who was that ?

Me: my mama .

Destyn: lol oh .

Then lunch was over . the last two period of schools I fell asleep .
