Demi whimpered, the pain coursing through her body almost too much to bear. For the past few months, her captors had used all manner of alien technology on her in an attempt to awaken the thing inside her. Most of what they had used on her shouldn’t ever be used on humans. It was miracle that she was still alive. But now she felt like dying. “Stop that insufferable noise!” Said a deep voice. The leader of her kidnappers, a large black lycan by the name of Theodoros, tilted her head upwards, so she was forced to look at him. He chuckled, taking satisfaction in the pain displayed on Demi’s face. “Why do you bother trying to stay strong? Do you really think your precious Doctor is coming to save you?” He asked her, instructing his henchmen to unlock the chains that bound her. “Bring her through. It’s time to continue with the experiments.” Just as Demi’s body fell to the ground, the sound of gunshots travelled down the hall. “What was that?” Theodoros asked. He growled, sniffing the air. “Lock the door and follow me.” He commanded. The three lycans ran down the hall, leaving Demi almost unconscious on the dungeon floor. All her other sense seemed to be shot, except her hearing. All the experiments had enhanced her hearing, and she liked what she heard: the familiar bickering of two people who she hadn’t seen in months was music to her ears.

“River! If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a thousand times; no guns!” “Where’s the fun in that, sweetie? And besides, this is only a stun gun. No dead werewolves here!” The Doctor was about to continue scolding River when the familiar stench of wet dog filled the air. “Ah. I’m guessing you’re Theodoros?” He said, looking over at the large black lycan, who was flanked by two smaller grey lycans. Theodoros nodded his head, growling. “The Doctor, I presume?” He asked. “The one and only! And this delightful lady next to me with the fantastic hair is Professor River Song.” “Hello boys.” River said, waving at Theodoros and his henchmen. Before they had the chance to respond, River disappeared into thin air. “Where has she gone?” Theodoros growled. “Teleportation device. She’s popped back to the prison. Still on her prison sentence after all. For killing me, of all things. Why I ever married her, I’ll never know. So, where were we?” The Doctor rambled, rubbing his hands in glee.

Demi felt hands on her back, but was too weak to move away. “Shh. Demi, it’s me. It’s River.” Demi mumbled, too exhausted to respond. “It’s okay, sweetheart. We’ll get you back to the TARDIS and she’ll fix you up. C’mon.” She put Demi’s arm around her shoulder and they teleported out of the dungeon.
