A/N: Hey there,

I know it’s a long time since I last updated coz I just didn’t get any time. It should be the other way since I just had my vacations but I guess I’m busier doing other stuff. So, out of curiosity, people from different countries, have their festive vacations…or any other vacation.. so what exactly do you do during this time and how long are your vacations? My Puja holidays were short,  but it was amazing!! Anyway, I’m getting another 10 day break for Diwali, and I am super excited!!

Chapter 5

I woke up in great pain. My limbs seem to be paralyzed and as I opened my eyes, I could see…Jake’s face?

“Hey, are you okay?” He asked. He looked terrible as I suppose he hadn’t slept for days.

“Umm…Yeah I guess,” I tried to get up but I felt too weak to do so. To my surprise, Jake helped my get up.

“Err..what happened?” I asked, wanting to know who that person was who ‘saved’ me.

“Umm.. you’re asking me that? Well.. when I reached school, I called out your name. There was this guy who was helping you get up and…umm… you were not in your senses and kinda passed out..and..”

“And what?” At this moment, my eyes were wide. I did not remember much.

“And you were badly hurt.”

“Can you explain me what happened?” He added, after glancing at my confused eyes.

“I will bro, but just one thing, who the the guy who was helping me? I need to thank him,” I told him.

“Oh, he is here, I’ll go get him, wait.” And after telling me that, he left the room.

I was really confused. Who was this guy who helped me? What if he was…?

I Couldn’t even think about it as it gave me goose bumps and sent shivers down my body.  No, don’t get scared Alice, no. Alice and scared?!?! Of that jerk?

How could he hav defeated David? He was strong, and how in hell wasn’t I in my senses. I didn’t drink or anything. I was now in my room thinking about that ‘mysterious guy’ when somebody knocked at my door.

“Come in,” was all I manage to speak.

The door opened. Jake was there of course and the guy who’s face I never ever wanted to see. No matter how many times I punched that face, I couldn’t be happy. The face that I hated it to such an extent that I could do anything to destroy it.  Yep, it was David.

“What the hell do you think you are doing here?” I asked, clenching my fists.

“Hey Alice, calm down. Alice, David. David, Alice,” He ‘introduced’ us.

David smiled. Suck a jerk!!

“How are you Alice?” His face still had that smile plastered.

Ironic enough, when I first saw him, I found that smile and face heavenly. But now… I just hate it. Ugh!

I was about to reply  to reply when somebody summoned David.

“Coming” He said. “You guys talk, I’ll be back in a bit,” and he left – Us. Alone.

David took a step forward, closed the door and locked it.

“Don’t you dare,” I hissed.

He ignored me, putting on a wicked smile and headed towards me.

I looked away from him and tried to restrain my arm from punching him.

He sat on the chair beside my bed.

“Doing well, Alice?” He chuckled.

“Why are you even here?” I asked again, this time extremely annoying.

“I was the one who saved you baby, from that terrible accident.

“What? What shi-” I was cut off when realization sank into me. He ‘saved’ me. He told everybody that he ‘saved’ me. He must have hit me with a stone or something, made my unconscious,  and then tried to help me get up so that Jake could think that he was ‘helping’ me.

Was he human? Why, I cannot see that he has heart!

“What happened, what are thinking about?” he asked, wiggling his eyebrows and touching my cheeks. I removed his hands from my cheeks.

God, he was totally shameless. He was acting as if nothing happened. That ‘bullying’ might have been slightly rude, but it was just a joke. Besides, everybody knew why that was done, so it was not like he was embarrassed or something.

“Don’t touch me!”

“Oh, okay fine then, miss touch-me-not”

“You think that you are smart and people will believe whatever you say? I will tell everybody the truth away.” I told him, when I added “…I might even sue you..I’ll..” I was cut off when he put his finger to my lips.

“Yeah right, you think I am so dumb?” He stopped when he took out his cell phone and started searching something in it. It was a picture but I was not interested. However, that had my face. I snatched the phone from him. Holy cow! It was a picture of him and me and he was…over me as if he was KISSING ME!?!?!

“So miss touch-me-not, here is the whole story, you utter a single word and this photo goes straight to your mother.”

A$$hole, he was clearly enjoying it.

“Hey you, I am warning you, you do anything and I will kick your ass! Mind it!” I told him, agrily.

“Oh yes! I am sooo scared. Please somebody save me from Miss touch-me-not here!” He told in a high pitched voice, acting like he really was.

Thankfully, there was a knock at the door. David got up immediately and opened it.

“Why was door locked?” Jake asked raising one of his eyebrows.

“She did not want anyone to disturb us!” He pointed towards me.

“Excuse me?” Jake and I said at the same time. Though, his voice was full of uncertainty, mine was full of panic.

“Just kidding..um.. I shut the door and…a..and my shirt got stuck so I had to lock it,” David said.

I didn’t really get that logic, but Jake seemed to have bought it. He was nodding, convinced with his answer.

“David, I think you can leave now and I should get some sleep,” Jake told David.

??

“Ha?” I asked.

“Oh, David has been here since the past two days and I had not slept much just in case you wake up,” he smiled and went.

 Jake Martin COMPROMISED his sleep, for his SISTER?!?! He barely even talks to me. Are you kidding me, something was fishy, and I wanted to know what it was.

It’s like my whole world has turned upside down in just a few days!
