Chapter 8 As Long As You Love Me :)

CHAPTER 8

No quarreling, no fighting, no abusing, no cursing or shouting.. In short, no violence or 'intolerable behaviour'.

I remind myself.

It was necessary because I knew that all those things were bound to happen when I am supposed to 'cooperate' with a certain dog called David.

I took baby steps while making my way to the auditorium, where the practice was held. All the seven dancers were in order, with their partners, except David, of course.

"You're late Alice," Says Jacks coldly.

I reluctantly smiled and went near David. The music was played and David took my hand in his, calmly.

that was weird! (for a change) He did not utter a single word, while we performed our steps.  

Now came the lift.

No! Calm down Alice...Calm Down..David can pick you up. He won't hurt you.

Nope, wrong. He could hurt me, that is if he wanted. he could hurt me easily if he wanted. But, the fit was done smoothly. I stared at him with a blank expression.

This wasn't the 'David' I knew. I could not tolerate this. I mean, I wanted him to keep shit and everything, but at the moment, I wasn't liking it. So I started with another topic.

"Did your girlfriend dump you?" I ask.

"Excuse me?" He seemed astonished.

"Did. Your girlfriend. Dump you?"

"I never had one" He shrugs it off.

"then, what is wrong with you?"

"Nothing's wrong with me. I am perfectly all right... Just the good old David," he smiles before adding, "Anyway, why are YOU bothered? It's not your matter, I guess" he was getting angry.

I don't know why.. But those words really hurt me. 'anyway, why are You bothered?' 

I couldn't answer him and just kept quiet. After a long break I told, " No, I was just... Asking, normally..."

"What do you want Alice?"

"What do you mean David?"

Just then, he lifted, as if I were just a little doll, and put me back down.

"Whoa!!" I muttered, before realizing it was just a step :P

Way to go Alice!

"what I mean is" He pulled me again, now really close. I thought we would do that step again but he stopped there and said, " if I don't talk, you start cursing me, and calling me names, and if I dont you have a problem. What do you want from me? What am I supposed to do?". His face was red, and if you were a little more imaginative, you could imagine him breathing heavily and smoke pouring out of his ears!!

He was right. (NO SARCASM INTENDED!!) Why am I bothered? It was his life. It was his wish. I could not think if anything else, but to mutter the word with was not applicable to my 'dictionairy'.

"Sorry.." I said.

He looked at me, shock writteniver his face. Heck, everybody was looking at me.

"Better be!" he said, grinning. Then, he left me and I could see him smiling.

"That was what I wanted" I said under my breath.

He stopped the step midway and stared at me with a blank expression.

"Did you just say something?" he asked,curiously.

"Nope"

"Weird" he shrugs it off.

I didnt get why I said that. And, why would I want HIM smiling? I hated him. Then why did I say that? 

I did not care this much about anybody. Not even family.

Alice, you hate him and you seek revenge from him. Stop getting all this in your head.

I kept on repeating it in my head.

So, now I amon my way back home. Physically, I was driving, but mentally the dance practice scene kept on replaying in my head. 

Talk about being weird.

Now, I pull into our garage.

"Mom I'm home!" I say, once I enter. I was about to enter my room when I heard two people talking. Jake was talking to Molly. I was about to open the room, when I heard him say my name. Why would he talk about me to Molly? I started to eavesdrop.

"No! You will not do that! How many times do I have to tell you that you have to hurt her?"  

It wasn't Molly. He was practically her pet dog, being nice and loyal, obeying her commands all the time.

Anyway that is not the point. Whom does he want to--

"Listen David. Alice has to suffer. You have to do as I say. You agreed on doing this. You have to hurt her, you cannot have good feelings for her. You have to trouble her, and give her pain. She is probably planning on some revenge for you now. See, she is not worth it. I hate her and I want you to do the same."
