Dear Amelia,
Valentine came over today. Peter, Thomas, Valentine, and a few of her friends, actually. We made brownies for some weird school function Valentine's in charge of.
Remember that time we made a batch of cinnamon cookies? How you ate all the cookie dough before the oven preheated? We had to run to the store and buy boxed cake mix, remember? Because we didn't want the oven to go through all that effort for nothing.
I went through a lot of effort, Amelia.
It was for nothing, it was all for nothing.
