PROLOGUE
I wait outside near the bus stop, the cold wind of autumn air breezes past as i wrap my arms around me and clench my coat closer to my body. I'm waiting for my mom to pick me up after school, usually i just can walk myself back to the apartment but she called me earlier that she wants to me to ride home with her today. I can expect it to be a surprise birthday party because, well, it is my birthday today and what else is suspicious of her not wanting me to go home myself.
The day is clear and i see the sun shining bright above the clouds, the leaves twirl and dance as they fall from their homes. I turn to my watch and it reads 3:50, about ten minuets late what else do i expect from my mom.
I hear the sound of screeching tires and i turn to look down the road and there i see the old blue car she drives, the bumper in the front is falling off and its held with duct tape. I always asked her to fix it but she says it holds memories, though i never know what type of memories you can get from a broken piece of metal but i just let her be.
The car makes a screeching halt and the black smoke fumes out of the back, she rolls down the window and i see her blue hair tied back into a ponytail and wearing sunglasses with her old red jacket.
"Hey Satoshi, mama didn't make you wait long enough did she?" She says and smiles.
"About 10 minuets i could say." I answer her back and open the passenger door and hop inside the car and on to the cushioned seat. I put the seat belt around me. "So uh mom why did you want to pick me up instead of me walking myself back home?" I ask her as she begins the engine and drives off.
"Cant a loving mother get some time with her son?" She answers and keeps on driving.
Yeah its a surprise birthday party i can tell, I'm turning 15 this year and my mom said she got me something very special. I hope its not underwear for the least.
We keep on driving down the road, all i do is just stare out to the window and watch the trees move by fast.
"So Satoshi, how was school? did you make any new friends?" My mom says and looks over to me.
"Nope" I stare to her and she stares at me back "You know how i am i don't like meeting new people because i just feel strange around them."
"Ah i cant believe you Satoshi, really, how can a teenager not at least make some friends your so different i tell you." She grumbles on but i tune her out of my mind.
We reach the apartment and she parks the small broken down blue car and gets off. i follow her and i close the door behind me and walk forward. We live in this tiny apartment in Tokyo 8, nothing much happens around here. I go to school, come back, eat, shower, and then bed. Its like a daily routine in my life, since i have so much to live for. I walk up the stairs and my mom keeps on looking behind to see me, as if I'm stalking her.
"What is it mom?" I tell her. She turns around.
"Oh uh Satoshi i left my purse at the car, can you be a good boy and go fetch me it please?" She say and hands me the keys to the car. i look down on them and turn my head to her.
-sigh- "Okay." I say to her as i turn around and walk down the stairs.
This is odd as if my theory of having a surprise party for me cant get any more believable. Really such a pathetic job on keeping it hidden but hey i can give them some credit. Its not like i had a birthday party for me before.
I walk over to the car and open it and take out her purse from under the seat. Jeez i wonder why she carries this thing around, I'm about to get out until the strap of the purse gets caught and i spill all the remnants inside of it.
