Reborn of Evangelion 1.1: You may [not] see your past.

B-PART: START

I was being escorted to some room after i have been done healing my injuries from piloting the EVA unit, no one was telling me what was actually happening and what really did happen. I feel a bit jaded because, well, i did just come back from resting in a hospital room. After Asuka rescued me from the EVA at Tokyo III we all left back to the school trip site where everybody was searching panicky for us and the cops and some officials from state where also there but then Asuka said that we were with her and they all left. The day after, Ayumi, Kai, and I didnt return with our class, instead, we were escorted out by Asuka and WILLIE where i found out my mom also witnessed the event of the angel and EVA. But what got me thinking about the whole time was what Asuka called me.

Satoshi Ikari.

My name is Satoshi Miamoto not Ikari, but why did she say that? Was it a spur of the moment? Or worse, what I really dont want to know, am i adopted?

I enter the room where they were taking me i look around and a low dim light hangs above a steel table and chair in the middle of the room, one of those classic interrogation rooms. I walk over to it and sit down, then out of all luck my mom sits across from me as if she's waiting for an explanation.

"You want to know why i was here huh" I finally say.

"I want to know why you were piloting an EVA, Satoshi. You couldve died for all sake! do you really want to-"

"I did it because i wanted to protect them!" I blurt out. She sits there staring at me, then closes her eyes and gives a smirk.

"You're still listening to that?" She suddenly says.

I forgot that i had my headphones in and playing the old cassette player. I take them off and i hold it up in my hand. The old occurring question i have had in my head comes to me, I put the cassette player down.

"I want to know." I finally say to her.

She stays silent and i look over and i see her face saddened almost as if she's been expecting this question ever since the day i was born.

"Satoshi I-"

'I want to know dammit! i want to know why i could pilot that EVA! i want to know why she called me Ikari!" I say it. i finally say it.

"Satoshi...Do you really want to know about what happened to your real parents?" She calmly says.

I look up in astonishment. Real parents? Does that mean im adopted, that im not your son?

"R...Real pa...Parents?" i sputter out.

"You Satoshi are the son of Shinji Ikari the former EVA unit 01 pilot and son of Gendo Ikari, founder of NERV." She says and pulls out the picture of the kid that she had in her purse and she looks at it and passes it to me. I reach out and grab it from her hands while they were trembling.

"This..This is my father?" I say while staring at the young kid in the photo wearing the white shirt and short brown hair. "What happened to him? Why did he leave me?" I tell her.

She stares off and closes her eyes and gives off a small smile. "Shinji was such a shy boy, And an idiot sometimes but thats what made me love him more. Back then when i was around my twenties and working in NERV we recruted him to be the third child, he always refused to pilot the EVA and ran off all the time but deep down i knew he was strong." She tells me.

"Sounds kinda like me." I laugh a little but i keep staring at the picture of him.

"One day Asuka, the girl you met earlier, was appointed to pilot a new unit that had just came in and apperently the unit didnt synchronized with her and turned itself into an angel." She pauses and then continues. "We had Shinji dispose of her but his gentle nature couldnt make him kill his best friend and partner, so his father implemented the dredded dummy system which made the EVA turn to its beast mode and destroy Asuka. Shinji didnt like this and he quit piloting the EVA after that." She tells me.
