"His assistant?" I raised my eyebrows in disbelief.

"Well..." He hummed and rocked from side to side on the couch. "One of his assistants. I'm Cupid Assistant number 416, nice to meet you." He bowed his head and smile at me.

"Uh..." What's happening? "How... many are there?"

"Last I checked," he answered, "600 assistants."

"Why would Cupid - "

"Eros."

" - have that many assistants?" He just shrugged and stood up from the couch. He started walking towards me. "Wait..." I narrowed my eyes and he paused. "How can I believe you? How can I believe anything you're saying?" He sighed exasperatedly and leaned against the wall.

"You saw what I did earlier to the blonde girl, right?" He questioned. "You saw me disappear, right?" To prove his point, he suddenly disappeared in a puff of smoke. I raised an eyebrow, craning my head to look for him. "And no one else can see me except you because you're wearing the ring." He suddenly said, his voice so close to my ear that it gave me goose bumps. I quickly turned to my left to see his face inches away from mine, smiling down at me. "What more proof do you need?" Before I could say anything, the doorbell rang.

DING DONG!

"I'm..." I trailed off and hopped off the bar stool. I pointed a finger to the door while walking backwards so that I was still looking at him. "I'm gonna get that." He nodded and folded his hands behind his back.

What the hell?! One of Cupid's assistants is in my living room! How did this happen? What supernatural forces are taking place here?! I don't think I can take anymore today. I rubbed my temples as whoever was outside kept ringing the doorbell.

"Geez!" I shouted at the door irritatedly. I can hear the guy laughing from the living room, which only fueled my irritation more. "I'm right here!" I shouted again and unlocked the door. When I pulled the door open, my eyebrows furrowed at the visitor. "Dex? What are you doing here? It's Monday." The eight year old just smiled up at me and walked in nonchalantly.

"My mom dropped me off," he answered as he took off his shoes and put them next to the door, "she said she had business tonight." By business, she meant a date, but Dexter doesn't know that... or at least, I hope he doesn't. "Hi Aunt Nao!" He greeted and hugged me around my waist tightly. I could only laugh and hug him back. He was just so cute! I heard footsteps shuffling towards us and I saw the guy peek at us from the living room.

"Who's that?" He asked innocently and smiled. I frowned but felt Dex lift his head up from my stomach and look at him. Weird.

"Aunt Nao," my nephew asked curiously with a pointed finger at the guy and looked up at me, "who's that?" My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. What? He said I was the only one who can see him! I looked at the guy accusingly as he walked towards us. He leaned towards me to whisper in my ear.

"I forgot to say," he snickered, "we can make ourselves visible to other people if we want to, but since you're wearing that ring, you can see me all the time. Ain't that great?" He giggled and all I wanted to do was punch him in the face. I felt a tug at my shirt and looked down to see Dex looking at me expectantly.

"He's..." I racked my brain to find a suitable answer. "My friend." The guy laughed heartily while Dex nodded.

"What's his name?" The guy crouched down to Dex's height and ruffled his hear.

"Call me CA." The guy answered with a grin. I saw Dex smile wide and nod his head happily.

"Okay!" The guy stood back up and nudged my arm. I rolled my eyes. I turned to him and hugged Dex with one arm.
