(Y/N) POV

I look at the flower in my hand, continuing to walk through the garden. My long day gown striding along the ground as I walk. I hear the familiar sound of my brothers crunching chain mail underneath their armor. Something I have grown used to hearing around the castle.

"(Y/N) I am glad to see you again." Mark says. I have not seen him for a couple of months. I was truly happy to see  him again. He is living in another castle now with his wife. I hug him and smile as I pull away.

"It is nice to see you too. We have missed you greatly. Where is your Queen?" I ask as I put my hand together in front of me.

"She is at home she is holding down the fort with the guards while, I am here for tonight and tomorrow." He replies. Dark shifts slightly, then speaks.

"(Y/N), you should go get ready for the ball tonight there will be many people, and for one of the rare occasions the five of us will all be together, as a family should." I nod and go to my room. Dark had his coronation last week, the towns people seem pleased with the way he runs things here. I am glad they are happy.

I return to my room and call for a maid ,so I can change dresses, and have my hair done, as well as make up. I am looking forward to tonight. I just feel uneasy, as if someone has been watching me all day. I hate it. Walking over to my desk I place my red rose on it, and run a bath. Getting in I begin to feel calm and the feeling of being watched is gone. I smile and continue to wash in my bath.

Time Skip

I walk out into my room the maid is waiting for me. I then look at the beautiful (F/C) gown. I begin to get dressed, when I am done I sit down in the chair in front of my vanity. I look at my self in the mirror, I honestly do not think I look that pretty. People tell me otherwise though.

She begins to do my hair, and puts it in a interesting looking braid. Nothing I've ever seen her do before, thereby I smile as it looks very pretty and nice. She finishes that and she begins to work on my make up. I keep my face completely straight while she does this, so there are no mishaps. I smile when she finishes my usual look I smile knowing it looks good.

My maid leaves the room and as soon as she does, I feel like I am being watched again, I hate this feeling. Its making me paranoid. I decide to thrown on my small crown, simple but beautiful. My parents gave it to me a couple years ago on my birthday. Last year though they just stopped spending time with us, after Dark took control and Mark left. I miss having my family together. I shake my head and walk out the door, making my to where the ball is being held tonight.

I watch as the workers do their work and how some smile as they see me. I smile back happy that they are happy, or at least appear to be. I walk out and go back to the garden. I begin to think to myself as I make my way to the bench in the middle of the garden. 'I wonder who my parents sent invitations to.' I hear the crunching of leaves and dirt.

"(Y/N) are you coming? Its almost time for the ball." He states and extends his am towards me. I stand up and link my arm with his and we walk into the castle.

"Hold on I must get my masquerade mask before we go in. Dark stands in the doorway waiting for me so we can go. I grab it and put it on. Its got feathers all over it, that are (F/C) and (2F/C) and put it on. I put it on and smile at myself in the mirror. I look behind me and see Dark with his on. You can tell blatantly who we each are by our clothes. We continue to walk and I hear another set of foot steps. Mark is next to us as well.

I link arms with both of my older brothers we smile at each other and walk to the ball room. Where all the beautiful music is coming from. I love the sounds of the (Favorite Instrument) playing, its so beautiful. I see my parents sitting in their new thrones, since Dark has control. Dark and I go over and sit down, Mark sits in the smaller chair next to mine. Due to his throne being removed from him leaving the kingdom.

People from places I do not know being to come in speak with us. I get off my throne, I don't know anyone. Some one puts their hand on my shoulder and turns me.

"(Y/N) honey you should meet this prince he is from another kingdom." I look at him, he smiles the all too familiar smile of a player, and he is wearing a light yellow suit, dressed like a prince alright. He bows and puts out his hand.

"May I have this dance?" He asks, slyly. I reply with.

"No thank you." and go back to my seat. quite content on avoiding anyone from other kingdoms. Soon enough I decide to get food from the buffet table and begin to walk over. I grab a piece of cheese and walk out to the balcony outside. I go to take off my mask, but hear.

"What is a girl like you doing out here by yourself. I kept quiet and turned around only to be met with closed balcony doors and someone next to me, with a mask and a dark green suit on.

"It is a beautiful night, and chose to step out. Problem?" I say looking him right in the eye. He smirks and chuckles. I look back out at the moon, its so high in the sky and pretty. I look at his face, he is wearing a bright green mask. His eyes are a bright green, giving an appearance of glowing. He has an accent, Irish sounding, vaguely familiar. Cannot put my finger on it at the moment though. We hear the music pick up and he asks me.

"May I have this dance?" He asks bowing down slightly gesturing out his gloved hand. Intrigued I put my hand in his and, he leads me as we dance our way into the ball room. We never lose the intense look in our eyes, due to not looking away from each others eyes, at all. I spin around and as soon as I am around again I am pulled into his chest.

The dance ends and, I am whisked into the air above him and, then dipped as he leans over me. People around  begin to clap as, I realize we were the only two dancing during that time. He dips lower and places chaste kiss on my cheek. I blush deeply as he lifts me up and I thank him then walk to my throne again. When I turn he is gone.

"Who is that you danced with?" My brothers ask me worry dripping from every word.

"I don't even know." I state, I knew you some where before.
