I was sitting in the sandbox at the park building a sandcastle. well they weren't really sandcastles, they were mounds of sand with the occasional twig sticking out of it, which is impressive for a 4 year old. I had just finished putting the last twig on the last sandcastle when an older boy walked up to the edge of the sandbox. "hey you! get out of my sandbox" he shouted at me while walking closer. "this is a park you can't own a sand box." I said quietly to myself.

Suddenly there was sand flying into my eyes, through my blurred vision I saw the older kid kicking my sandcastles. "Stop it!" I yelled at him and rubbed at the sand in my eyes, He laughed at me and started to stomp on them. I sat there and cried not being able to do anything. then there was a voice. "hey! leave her alone, she didn't do anything wrong!" I looked up to see a boy my age with blonde hair wearing overalls. The older boy laughed "what are you gonna do about it?" the bully asks "I'm gonna tell on you, but I'm gonna do this first." the bully laughed "do what?" the blonde walked forward and grabbed a handful of sand in each hand. he shoved one fistful of sand into the bully's eyes and the other into his mouth. Then, without hesitation he grabbed the bully's arm and bit it. The bully shouted and grabbed his arm "you're a freak!" he shouted and ran away.

The boy in overalls came and sat down next to me "do you want help rebuilding your sandcastles?" he asked as if nothing had just happened. I just nodded still staring at him "my name's liam, what's yours?" he said while piling up some sand. "I'm amara." I said turning my attention toward my own pile of sand. "do you want to be friends?" liam asked. "okay." I said without looking up from my sand pile.
